99 auto fail

i dont know.
the car has 223,000 on it.
The transmission is slipping and sometimes shifting real hard.
check engine light came...TCS light flashed, was on for awhile..now its off.
second transmission(done at 55k by dealer no cost).

what should i do with this car?

I know its gonna leave me stranded...soon....

Get it fix. What's it doing ? Slipping all gears ? Hot or cold condition ? It will cost a little over 2k to have it rebuild. Is it a 99 ? If so i do have a rebuild 1 for my spare but not need it yet.

if the rest of the car is sound and you like it, --and piggy- who is a trained tech- has a spare `he rebuilt` 99 trans sitting there on the bench,,you may be able to hook up and get it dropped in too!

That is ziners helping ziners there!!

it definitely gets worse when hot and its been hot. alot of slipping. it seems like it is not engaging the torque converter lock at highways speed anymore also. the TCS light comes on and off every other day now. its not so bad if i baby it.

Sounds like the converter clutch had seize to function. It will need a rebuild. It will only get worst. Some cases it will have a "no move" condition when the converter slips bad enough.

I sold it for less than the price of a used tranny lol. If i have a garage and air tool, i can rebuild them all day long.
