Hi guys

I got a 99 Acura 3.2 Tl

For some reason the trunk is not opening when I press the button or use the remote key. It makes a clicking sound but the trunk isn't opening. I was able to open little part in the middle of back seat to pull a little string but it didn't open the trunk and made clicking sound. Is there a way to put the whole back seat down to go into trunk to see what is wrong?? Also, I am a noob when it comes to cars so please try to make the instructions as simple as possible. Thanks in Advance guys.

Unfortunately you can't fold down the entire back seat. You can, however, unbolt the rear seat to access the trunk. Forum moderator fsttyms1 has mentioned this previously.

You might want to pull up (or push down) on the trunk while pressing the remote button in case there's friction in the system.

 

With the very tips of your fingers, pull up on the trunk while you're pushing the button on the remote. When you hear it click you will be able to pull it up.

 

I got the seat out, now can someone find me a blow up version of a diagram that describes the lock of the trunk of 99 Acura 3.2 Tl. I can't find one but if you guys can please do post it so I can fix this myself. If I take it to mechanic I m looking at $300+
