2nd Igniter Gone

About two weeks or so ago, I replaced the bulbs on my car. After finishing, I turned my headlights on and driver's side didn't come on. Immediately ticked cuz I thot it was the bulb. Flipped the bulbs and still didn't come on. So I put my old bulbs back in..worked fine for a day then it gave out. So I did some diagnosing and found the igniter to be the problem so I got some used ones from a member here and it has been working...until now. Last night...I started having problems with it. Is there something in the inverter that may be causing the igniter to give out? Or could it just have been that igniter's time to go? Luckily I do have another so I'm just going to use that but I don't want this to happen again. Any tips on what I should look for (i.e. typical damage to igniter or inverter?

Got a chance to take a look at the ignitors yesterday and it looks like they are getting too hot and the plastic around the the metal that connects to the bottom of the bulb is melting. I have no idea why this is happening. I installed HID fogs at about the same time I started having these probs.could they be related? There are plenty of people before me with HID fogs and no headlight problems. Or could this be bulb related? I installed new 5000k bulbs as well. I just have no idea why this is happening. It seems to be happening on both sides too. Last night my driver's side started acting up as well (it had only been the passenger's side before) and the ignitor did look somewhat warped as well when I looked at it.

Anyone have any ideas?

I bought them off of akinaboy on eBay so yea I guess it is those shitty bulbs. I figured it had to be the bulbs since I had never had a problem before the switch. But they looked legit. And he used to be a member on here and I never read anything bad about him or his bulbs. Guess I shoulda just gone with excelerate's bulbs.
Anyone know how to tell the dif between genuine Philips and the knockoffs?

do they smell ricey or saukroutish? I need a D2R bulb, I guess two since they should be replaced in pairs. That is what I get for always driving with my lights on, even during the day .... $200+ from the dealership will probably be the route I go since I dont want to deal with burnt ignitors or ballast from ricey smelling bulbs.

i run them day and night for safety reasons ... easier for people to see me and my cleared headlamps! But now I'm thinking of the $200 price tag ... maybe i'll just run them at night now.
