2nd Gen Type-S dies randomly
My Car has died on me twice in about a month time, i drive it daily. Previous time it died was after driving about 30-40 minutes, i was doing about 40 and it just died. Yesterday i was getting off the highway on an off ramp, same thing. The funny thing is, she dies and after a couple minutes starts back up with no problems, no CEL, nothing..
How do i pinpoint what the problem is if i dont know what starts it, lol. Has anybody ever had this mysterious issue? Im DYING to know.

Thanks again guys, I'm going to try the main relay first and then the ignition wiring if it doesnt fix the problem. I've read somewhere in comments that a person temporarily fixed this kind of problem by using his spare key. But i just kind of laughed that off

So my car died again the other day, and wouldnt start anymore unlike other times it would start right away, got it towed. Tried starting it in the morning - nothinig. changed the main relay and she starts like a champ. But the thing that worries me is that the RPM's are still really low.
Any suggestions?

After changing the said Relay you need to perform the Idle Relearn.
IR
1. Start the car and turn ALL accessories to off. Then turn the car off.
2. Pull the Clock fuse No. 13 for 10 seconds to reset PCM. Then reinstall fuse.
3. Start car and hold the RPM at 3000 untill a fan comes on. Then let the car idle for 5 minutes. During the 5 minute idle time, if the fan comes on again you need to add the On Fan time to the 5 min time. So 5 min + all on fan time.
Ie. If fan runs for 30 seconds during the 5 minute idle time then the total idle time shall be 5 minutes and 30 seconds.

some years have an idle relearn procedure, found in the owner book and iirc its made it to our DIY list or someone will give you the link.
Mine doesnt need that so I cant offer more help.
It really helps to post your year and model= P or S in thread title,
it makes a difference on what special procedures you might require, or problems we are aware of
If its a 99 I say replace the back of ignition switch- the electrical part = when in doubt and car stalls at random
That FI relay is becoming more common with our cars aging process
