Unhappy 2003 Acura TL Type-S Transmission Problme

Hi there,

I have a issue with my 03 Acura TL Type-S Transmission Problem. The car doesn't move as normal. Its very slow.

When i went to Acura Dealer, he said Transmission Assembly needs to be replaced.
My question is it part of a recall fix? or should I go ahead and get this fixed myself.
Please note the car has 80,720 miles.

Please advise me.

Regards,

They should have told you if it was being covered. We dont know since you didnt give us your vin. Work with your dealer if it isnt and see if they will help good will part or all of it.

My transmission went at about 50K and they just replaced it as a part of the recall.....it depends on if your car was a part of the recall or not. Just because you say it doesn't move normal doesn't mean transmission problem

The only way you know your transmission is going is if the gears SLIP!!! You will feel a "jerking" when it shifts gears......is this what happen?

if its an 2003 it should be covered under the 109k / 7 year + 9 month warrenty???? Unless the VIN is not covered for that particular coverage. 80k seems goodwillable....is that even a word...any ways just be persisent and it usually pays off. do your research and go at acura with all the knowledge possible. the "Tranny failure" thread is real helpful. Just stay up all night and read the whole thing...like me!!! or not.
