Yes, it is normal. I think the reset procedure just involves running the car while it's parked outside in a stationary location. It may take 15 minutes or more, IIRC.

Navigation Update

I have the earlier version of the DVD (Black 2.40), if I want to purchase the newer version 2.5, it will cost around $200.00 from the dealership, is it worth the spending? Is the 2.5 is much more detail than 2.4 ?

Please help...........

It really depends on where you're located.

Check Paul Mooney's helpful Navhelp.com web site. He lists the improved areas with each release.

But 2.40 is a pretty recent release. Unless you've run into problems, I would be tempted to wait for a newer release.

Were you parked outside away from any large buildings or other obstructions? That's mentioned in the owner's manual.

Have you taken the car on a drive yet?

And I know that I've seen other threads regarding this same problem. Search the forum and see what you can find.

Good luck!

read the procedure in owner book
key must be ON but engine not running- insert disc- start car- leave running in open space- a place you know was on the gps when you stopped!

You order the new disc via acura corp- see the store portion of acura.com after you register there- it list changes to each version
check recall section and make sure you are current on things there as well
