2000 TL Idle shake and hesitation when taking off.

Hello,
This started happening yesterday. I recently had the timing belt, water pump, all pulleys and related belts, radiator and fluids chnaged. The car has 151K miles on it.

Yesterday I started the car, stop at the parking lot exit, car tilted forward, and the car starts to shake, as if it was going to turn off. There was no warning lights and the RPM need le was steady. It got home just fine. About an hour later I backed out of the driveway, started off very slowly about 5mph. Gave it a liitle gas to accelerate to about 10, and nothing. It felt weird. Then all of sudden jerk and the car accelrates for a second or two and then nothing. This repeatede itself about 5 to 6 times. I took the foot of teh gas, and pushed down again for normal acceleration and the car performs great.

Today there was a mild hesitation around 20 mph and then again it performed fine.

On the way back from work, again idle at the exit, and again it starts to shake a bit. Then when I started to drive, It hesitated for a about 3 seconds or so, and then just took off normally.

It sort of feel like it is building pressure and then releases it, builds pressure and releases, causing the jerking.

No Check Engine Lights. Everything seems normal. Weather is a bit cooler than normal.

Any ideas??

I've had a similar symptom, but not as severe. I did have a code the first time it happened (P1361 - Top Dead Center Sensor 1 Intermittent Interruption) but not in the 2-3 times is has happened since. Going to replace the TDC sensor soon.

Could it be the Main Relay acting up? Try tapping on it.
