Looking for assistance with trunk latch not working. no noise when activating door release button. trunk lid latch looks ok but will not lock when manually rotated into place. spring in latch is in tacked. can't find any fuse labeled as trunk & all other accessories seem to be working. checked fuses on each side of dash @ door opening & main fuse box under hood. vfy'd switch @ glove box is not deactivated. remote fob will lock & unlock doors but trunk release not operable. Any one have suggestions where to go from here?? thanks

 

when my trunk would not close, yet all appeared to be fine, I had to purchase a new trunk latch from the dealer, cost around 125.00, pretty easy to install yourself even with minimal knowledge, dont know if this helps.

 

I had the same issue for a couple of days on '02 TL. Tune the radio to no channel/static and press the door button to release the trunk. You should hear a little "pop" in the speakers which is the load from the trunk lock. This proves the switch is okay. After that, dismantle the lock/ actuator and ensure everything moves freely, lubricate and check the operation. That's all I did to mine and it has been fine for over a year now. It's worth a try.
