105,000 mile service

105,000 mile service

id like to say whats up to everyone, today is my first day as a member at acurazine. im looking foward to alot of D.I.Y
my 03 type s has 96k, acura tells me ill soon need the 105k service that will cost me about 1400, is there anything i can do myself so i dont have to donate my paycheck to their overpriced service?

Don't go to Acura & you won't pay 1400. Go to a local shop that works on Hondas & get the timing belt/water pump/drive belts done for no more than 7-800 bucks. Do other crap yourself (oil, air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, etc..)

Our cars are pretty user friendly when it comes to working on them....Especially if you do some research here on azine first....As someone said above, you can go to a private shop for way less, or you can do it yourself. Check the DIY page for more info...

what about using redline oil? someone told me not to use it when you have high mileage

I dont know about Redline. I stick to Royal Purple fully synthetic....Occasionally I will throw in Mobil.

I bought it about 2 years ago from a pos nissan dealership, tranny went out within a month of buying it
