03 TL Climate control

Hello. First let me say (as this is my first post here) thank you to everyone for the wealth of information on this forum. This is a pretty invaluable resource for owners of this car.

My issue today is with my climate control panel. It works fine in full auto, in fact, everything seems to function perfectly. My only confusion is that even when i set all the parameters myself, the word "auto" remains on the display. Is this normal or abnormal? I have tried the diagnostic function (hold auto and off buttons for a minute) and no codes come up. the only possibly anomaly I have noticed is that no matter what way you have the vent mode sent, air always comes from the drivers far side IP vent.

Yeah, it appears by the way that the temp and blower rotary dials are set....that everything is normal. The "Auto" fan setting will attempt to maintain the desired temp setting. Automatic climate control w/o AC ? When trying the different "mode" settings, there must be a problem with the vent's air mix motor hanging up ? IDK, try turning the blower fan all the way off.

Even though you selected the fan speed and mode, the temperature is maintained "automatically". If you set the fan to auto, and press the auto button, the display will say "full auto", and the fan speed, and mode will be selected by the car, regardless of your intentions.

It should not ^ when AUTO is engaged it should not be possible to select the vent zone.. When you click AUTO the vent zone goes blank always.. what FULL AUTO does is control the Air Speed too.

^ I'm not sure I understand the point you're trying to make. The word AUTO appears in the display if the driver selects the fan speed or any mode position, as is shown in the photo. If the fan is in the auto position, and the auto button is pushed, the display will show FULL AUTO. I can't remember if the word AUTO goes away if you select maximum heat or cold. I also can't remember for sure if the word FULL AUTO comes on if you press the auto button with the fan speed anywhere but auto. Are you saying that the display in the photo is not normal? I think it is.

Thats exactly my point.. Seems like the word AUTO is stuck.
If it were OK then when you select any vent mode the word AUTO should go away.

Full Auto engages when:
1.- TEMP is at 61 or 79 but not at full cold or full heat
2.- Air Knob its at AUTO position
3.- When there isnt any vent zone selected

When Auto is selected:
1.- Temp is at 61 or 79
2.- Air Knob is anywhere but AUTO
3.- Still there isnt any vent zone selected same as Full Auto.

Same issue...

I am experiencing the same issue.

2002 Acura TL

Issue started a couple months ago. It was around the time my brake light switch needed to be replaced.

The "Auto" on the climate control (non-nav) will not turn off. And yes, it should when the zones are selected. Additionally, no matter which zones are manually selected, it is only blowing out the center/head one. No foot, No defroster.

One other issue started around the same time. Cruise control is offline. No green light on the side button and it will no engage. I understand the brake light switch is also connected to cruise control but have yet to figure out the problem.

All fuses were checked and I found no broken ones.
