As for the lugs, just leave it alone man. the wheel setup is perfect. As is, your car is gorgeous, so dont take my suggestions as one of those nitpickers who always want to point something out to change on your car. I just know if you're like me you are always thinking about new things to do regardless of how small of a detail it is.

Keep that thing clean and running right!

...man it seems like the hottest 2nd gens these days are out of NY (I know there are exceptions on here so no disrespect to anybody) but NY seems to be the largest group of clean ass rides ... jdm inspired looking in your direction haha)
Not offended at all, but im going to have to disagree with you on this one. There are nice ones all over, but if we made a tally board Cali might take it. All coast has some bad ass cars though, hard to say if anyone place has the best rides, so subjective to styles.

So what could cause ALL of the power steering fluid to leak out of the tank in a matter of 36 hours?

with this car again.

yeah i tried with the bat. didn't work too well for me. paint started to chip even though i heated it for a while.

im gonna stick with a real fender roller.

edit: that is, if i don't get frustrated and sell the car after i figure out this power steering issue

how much headache is too much before you would decide to replace a car?

Ehhh I had my share of weird issues.. Luckily nothing too crazy besides a blown tranny, was still warrantied for a free full replacement, but it seems like every time I wanna get into something new.. I fall back in love with this car again.. At this point will prolly jus end up keepin it no matter what lol put too much time and love into it to get rid of

Bad rubber seal in the reservoir.

The damn thing barely moved the fender anywhere i couldn't tell you why but I was told afterwards that I should have heated the "roller" part.

I know as soon as I put new wheels on or change the appearance somehow I fall in love again. But I'm hemorrhaging money like crazy on maintenance.

Seriously looking into a 2013 Gen Coupe 2.0t or Subaru BRZ.

I kind of looked it over today and I couldn't tell if anything was cracked/leaking. But when I refilled the reservoir, an hour or so later there was a wet spot on my driveway. Gonna take it to my mechanic. I need to do 120K service soon anyways.

Makes sense. Hopefully I'll have better luck with it...if I ever get to it.

Well, I do love her quite a bit. But she's a crazy bitch. Usually if I throw money at her, she shuts up.

If I can get a good lease deal on a 2013 Gen Coupe 2.0t 6MT in a few months, then I'm kicking the bitch out.

I would do the same thing or an 08 tls. I like the 2.0 turbo more than the 3.8 actually you could probably get more power out of it than the 3.8 if you dumped some $ in it.

although an 08 TL-S would be nice, few problems i see for me.

1. used
2. FWD
3. 6MT is rare
4. NA
5. cant afford monthly payments haha

my goals for next car are lease, 6MT, turbo, and RWD/AWD. 2013 Gen coupe 2.0t has 270+ hp stock and that makes me

I bet the 2013 Gen coupe will cost considerably more than the 2012 and it probably won't be worth it in the end.

It's probably safe to say that it's time to get rid if the TL when you see more people on the "Problem & Fixes" board more than all the other boards combined. I got rid of mine because I was putting in way more money than the car was worth, knowing that it'll only need more money later on.

I really hope you're wrong about the price. 2 doors + RWD + 270hp for about 23K base price would be sick.

Update on power steering leak:

It is leaking from both sides of the rack. The rack and the pump both need to be replaced.

The possible good news:

The leak is related to the accident I had back in December. So the insurance company was called. An adjuster is going to look at it tomorrow and I may get the whole bill covered by insurance

im not sure if youre keeping it or what not and i didnt see whether you rolled the fenders or not, i may have missed it, but i tried a fender roller which was meh, i actually ended up heating the shit out of it and banging it up with a rubber mallet, worked like a charm.

good work man, it looks nice and clean like these cars should look like.

I will see about the part out. I'm going to try and sell it as is first so I don't have to do any work. Parting out takes a LOT of time that I don't have these days. If no one bites, then I'll part out.

Hm, and no paint chipped? I might give it a try. I want to REALLY slam it for Island Import Day on the 18th. But I need to roll first or else the fenders will shred my tires apart.

paint can come off on the inside where its rolled so you wont see it, but realistically, just in case, after its rolled, seal it with rust sealer/primer and even paint it since you like to paint so much lol

New height for Island Import Day next Sunday. Lowered 2.5cm in the rear and 2cmin the front. I rolled my fenders too using heat and a sheetmetal hammer. Then I coated the area with a couple coats of plastidip.

Rear: 18x10 +42

I think they look awesome so far.

Thanks! Its close man. Probably 5mm at most between the rim and the coilover body. I didn't want to but it looks like im going to have to run a stretched tire. Youre in long island right? What shop did you use to install the stretched tires?

Yeaa, def gonna need a stretch and some camber if your gonna go lower also... Yea, I use Al's hubcaps on Jericho tpke in mineola... Place looks run down and Al's a character but does awesome work, a lot of high quality wheels and cars pass through there!! Have had everything done there from stretching to bends and crack repair!

thanks! yeah i feel like it's definitely something different. not the usual volks or bbs reps that you see on our cars. the tape stops my bumper from flapping in the wind because i accidentally and stupidly broke the tabs where it bolts in i plan to fix it or get a new bumper in the near future.

Hm, i'll have to check that place out. Mineola is about 45 min away from me but if they do quality work it's probably worth the hike.

First, I gotta figure out what tire size to use for the rear. I know I can do 235/40 but I'd rather not run that much of a stretch. I could go with a 255/35 which may work because the diameter is .5" less than OEM....decisions, decisions!

So I slept on it and decided on 225/40-18 for the front and 255/35-18 for the rear. That will keep the diameter around 25 inches (.5" less than OEM) and hopefully it will allow me to go MOAR LOW!

interesting looks good, i would never thought of stang rims, but it looks like it will be a nice addition.

how much did they run?

also whats up with the red mirror, and tape on the rear bumper? (never mind just saw you have broken tabs, now the MIRROR?

also whats up with the red mirror, and tape on the rear bumper? (never mind just saw you have broken tabs, now the MIRROR?
Thanks. I like to do things that people wouldn't expect

I got them for 600 shipped. Price was a bit sketchy I know, but A LOT of people vouched for them. Them seem to be decent quality even though they're made in China.

As for the red mirror, I was playing around with some Plasti-dip because my original paint is in really bad condition. The hood and trunk are especially ruined. I like the matte red look so I bought a few cans to test it out.

I'm gonna wait a few weeks to see if I still like it, and if I do, I'll rent a compressor and shoot the whole car.

Or maybe I'll do matte white

edit: also need to polish my headlights again. the list keeps going on and on

i was stretching 215/35 on 8.5 and 225/35 on 9.5... gotta run a stretch if your looking to get low with these wide wheel set ups
