What's this???(under my hood)
So I finally got around to cleaning my engine bay and found this unplugged. Any idea what it is guys?
From a bit farther away
The whole car after I cleaned it

Love your car... beautiful... as for the plug I think it might be the flux capacitor option?
But seriously I have no idea, ran out to mine and I have same thing?

Both of yours are unplugged? Because I think I see the outlet...

you cant hurt the engine with water.
but a little common sense goes a long way.
take notice of all things electrical; alternator, starter, fuse box.
also, there have been reports of spark plugs getting wet. but if you use common sense and dont pressure wash the coils/spark plugs then you should be fine.
use degreaser, spray it all over the engine and into deep crevices where you see dirt and grime.
use a brush to agitate the dirt and grime.
then spray off.
i wash my engine bay pretty constant, as i like all things shiny.

Thanks!
I have a really big favor to ask, I'm not an idiot but I somehow manage to make everything related to my car a lot harder than it needs to be...
you think you could possibly circle what I should bag off on my engine bay?
Like I said, I have a propensity to fuck things up even when I know what I'm doing
PS, should I take off my engine cover before I degrease?

lol its all good mine looked that way before I got around to messing with it. get a dremel and take some of that rust off after you hose it all down. the aluminum will rust again eventually but if you put a lil wax or metal polish on it every now and then it should keep it at bay, but once it hits winter in NY, i doubt much of anything will prevent oxidation... If you ever do a valve job soon, paint your valve covers while they're off, that will really set off your bay.
as to the OP: i honestly have no clue what that plug is for. did you wire your power wire yourself? maybe someone disconnected it when they hooked up your power wire? Does anything seem like it's not working properly?

I wanna clean the rust off the strut brace and paint that thing blue like my engine cover, but I'd rather have a clean bay first
Haha yeah man try living in upstate new york and having the car not maintain on the inside for it's first 7 years of life. Oh! and then try and unbolt those for the first time when you lower the ride. That was SUPER fun!
