i've been curious to know and haven't seen any on the forums yet but i really like the body style of the TL-S and was wondering if anybody has done a crazy offset or VIP style with the TL. if so can you post a link I think it would look awesome and might persuade me in that direction. thanks

ROCKSTAR21-- ok you caught me i didnt' search for VIP TL's but i did look for the most recent and popular discussion threads and didn't see anything. these are some nice builds of the TL's thanks for posting im going to have to look into building this way or in this direction possibly

I think my main issue with VIP is the extensive use of chrome... I really think that cars look so much better without chrome.

I dunno, I guess big wheels, extreme camber, bags, etc. just no chrome is what i'd go for.

I seriously can't do camber though, I need at least 1-1.5in clearance to even consider driving around here and if about an inch of my tire was actually in contact with the ground, I wouldn't have much of a clean rim any more..

a majority of people would take one look at the rear camber of VIP cars and call it broken.

VIP is an acquired taste, like dark beer or the 4G TL.

throw the RJ grill, minus the silver bar and just a floating A. Acura should look into hiring them...

^ hmm this is actually the first time im seeing the floating A on the 4G. i think i like the RJ bar grill better though.

Not to thread jack lol, but here's the other options... I dunno, the Bar is a little aggressive for me...It looks a little funny with the A, but out of place without it, and the gap is just a no go, its way to big for there to be absolutely nothing there.

btw, does anyone els HATE the new stock rims?

The 3G stockies, while smaller, were leagues better

IMO, I still think the 2G was the best looking TL. and that's not because I own it. I still firmly believe that. even in complete stock form it looks great

I think if the aluminum plate below the trunk was removed it'd look at lot better.

if they could just remove everything related to that "power plenum" nonsense and square off the back a bit, the car would be fantastic.

but what i am jealous of is the gorgeous interior

i thought this thread was supposed to be about VIP style TL's...but while we're off topic, i think the 2g and 3g tl's are 10000000000000x better looking then the 4g tl. wtf is acura thinking making the 4g so ugly? i think they lost a lot of loyal acura customers by making that ugly machine.

unfortunately with Honda's 5 year cycle, we are not going to see a new 5G TL until MY2014. so until then were stuck with the current "ugly" design.

its honestly grown on me. i dont mind its abstract looks anymore. the interior is gorgeous. i wouldnt mind owning a 4G because id be inside all the time and wouldnt have to look at its questionable exterior. plus 300hp + SH-AWD + 6MT = win.

and kp4Lyfe: you're correct. It's a mature direction that Acura has realized is not as popular as the older styles. If you check the leaks for the 2011 refresh for the TSX, the plenum grill is MUCH reduced



It looks better, but still that car looks so much nicer when it has the euro accord grill! I'm still mad they changed the RDX grill. that was actually a nice looking small SUV..now
