hah. I wish. Those damn thing have been discontinued for a while now. They're hard to find even in Japan. . BTW. I think I might have a break through with the whole front lip situation.

That's ok. The bug looks pretty sick though.

I'm going to try and fit it this sometime this week. I have an idea which doesn't require cutting off the bottom half of the bumper or molding the lip on. Hope it works.

This bumper issue is holding me back from my other upgrades.

so just a question. what's the difference between the jdm and usdm bumpers for the 99-01's? and what's the parking pole? is it the little black nub-like thing in the first picture?

^^ the difference is that the jdm has the built in fogs lights, and only some of them have the parking antenna.

the parking antenna pops out, some of them have a built in light that lights up to the side to help you park? i believe.

and yeah its the nub-like thing

JDM bumper is shorter and has foglights, parking pole goes up to help you park, yes, it helps u approximate how close you are to objects in front. USDM bumper is wayyy longer than the JDM one.

back when i had it...i wanted to mount the lighted JDM plates for shows...its like $50-$60 per plate...

one thing i hated about the JDM was the spot for the front plate...its molded on the bumper...gross...but i finally got over it and just bought an angled plate bracket...also never used it lol

damn looks good!! so how'd you end up installing it?

and moar pics!!

also i since i cant find the oem lip anywhere and idk if i wanna go to the dealer for it (cost too much). i think im going to mod/mold my WW lip (cut the fins of the lip and sides).

do you guys think it will be better to mold it or try to keep it 2 piece?
i am pretty low so im kinda scared of it cracking if i mold, but right now my WW is 2 piece and it started to crack a while ago. so does it really matter?

o yeah moar pics!!

Thanks! The lip isn't fully on yet. I still have to make a couple of adjustments and bolt it on.

On with the pics:

There are little inserts on the JDM bumper that line up with the tabs on the lip. I started off by drawing lines where the tabs will go on the bumper.

Next, I used a cutting wheel to cut off the top portion of the lip so it would sit flush when mounted to the bumper.

Next, I started to cut slits in the bumper where I drew the lines.

After that, I noticed that a few of the tabs had two bump, guide thingies. I cut them off as well.

Next, It lined up the lip and pushed the tabs through the holes

and here's what it looks like. Keep in mind that the lip will fit better once I make a few extra adjustments. I still have to fasten the sides in.

Also, I didn't have to shorten the lip at all to get it to fit. It lined straight up with the bumper. However, I did have to cut off the bottom corners of the bumper to get the edge of the lip to sit.

This is just a test fit. I plan on sanding down the edges and adding two way tape to the top. Also, the taps don't line up perfectly with the inserts (too short), there's also a gap. I'm going to use bolts with a lot of washers and make new holes on the bottom.

dam bro I must say props on the install for your frontlip!!!

I was heading in the direction Mildblues went with your 99 jdm bumper, but came across a great deal with my jdm bumper with the intersection lights in it, so I had to get that......only one in the US

Well, guys. I'm coming to the final stages of putting this damn lip on my bumper. I noticed, after I put the lip in all the way, that it is longer than the bumper. (I guess how dc2Kid explained how his was.) I'm debating if I should cut the ends off or just leave it. It doesn't look all that bad but it is noticeable. Just got to buy some bolts, nuts, washers and strong ass two way tape then it should be on...... FOR GOOD!

^ saw your other thread you car looks good!

so i finally got my car back from the shop, all scratches and dents painted/fixed. now its time to figure out how to put the lip on. I couldnt find an oem lip so the WW will have to do. but ima get the fins cut off.

this is how the car looks with the JDM bumper and new fenders: (quality sucks from phone)

This is the check list for the project:
-Cut fins off Lip/sides and install
-wire the parking antenna/side markers
-clear the driver side headlight
-align driverside headlight properly (its a bit off)
-get new frame

I like parking poles... Totally reminds me of Japan.

I know it came like that on the jdm bumper, but it should actually be on the right side assuming you have LHD

thanks, but yea it should be on the other side. but it would be JDM then, and it more for show then helping me park cause my HID overpowers the light from the antenna.

Lucky, I'm still debating whether or not to buy the JDM lip or just get the USDM one and mold it on.

So as most of you guys know, I got a JDM bumper and had a WW front lip that didn’t fit. Also I wanted to get rid of the fins on the Kit also. So I went around to shops to see how much they would charge and it was a little more than a brand new full kit.

So I decided to cut the fins off myself and if I mess I, I could just take it to a shop and have them fix it for me. Also I had to cut the fins, and cut the sides of the front lip cause the JDM bumper is smaller on both sides.

So here is a quick kinda DIY to cut the fins, and shorten the kit.

Tools needed:
-Dremel
-Painters tape
-3m Double sided tape
-helper (it makes it easier)
-80 grit sand paper
-120 grit paper
-320 grit sand paper

So here is the steps I took:

1) Put painters tape over the bumper, so you don’t scratch the paint while trying to get measurement right

2) Put double sided tape on the inside of the lip to attach to the bumper

3) Get your helper and put on the lip. Make it even on both sides. it double sided tape doesn’t work put on painter tape to hold it up better.

4) Once it holding up, go towards the side fins and tape off in a line to see where you are going to cut the fin. I angled the tape up a bit, so it flows better. Also I taped a lil higher so i don’t cut too much, and I could control how much I sand.

5) I taped the edges also, so I know how much to cut off the edges. (most of you guys don’t need to do this, only people with the JDM bumper.) If you look at the pic it straight on the end.

6) Once taped off, take it off the car and get ready to cut. Get the dremel, and Cut around the tape.

7) Once cut take the tape off and start to sand. Used 80 grit first. You want to sand it so there are no straight edges. Make the spot you cut it as smooth as the whole line throughout the lip.
-this take a lot of time, but you do not want to half ass this. it will make the biggest difference.

*I got up to this part and sanded it somewhat, but didn’t take pics. I will update this thread as I go on. Snce this is not a one day job. It takes time.

If you got connections to getting one. do it! But the USDM lip isnt too much work to make it fit. Like the eleventure did. I just have alot of work cause of the fins.
