short update in a long while

So I've recently been really busy with work, school and life and haven't really had the time to be on the forum as much as I'd like to. Plus, I took a months vacation and the car hasn't been running as well so I've been away from the scene for a little while. But the car will be ready in the next 2 weeks and I feel it's time for an update. Basically blew a head gasket once I got the motor running and only drove it for two days. Simple and costly mistake. Spent time moving it back and forth between cities trying to fix it due to complaints that it sat for too long and because of haters (neighbors) and their tow threats so I got tired of dragging the wait out and decided to just bring it into the shop.

On the truck

Back at home. And still in a mini photoshoot my friend took of the 2G's even though mine wasn't running haha. The other one on the right is my homie who also has a 2G SSM.

Car is now in Davis. The heads are new and ready to go and the timing belt is being changed while the motor was out and it will be up and ready within the next two weeks. Was hoping to make it in time for Wekfest but there's no way thats possible. Next plans are to install my window visors and sarona spoiler and I also got the right size rear H emblem from HT. Then, I'm going to get the JDM bumper and fit my OEM lip onto it and put on the mugen spoiler and it will be a wrap!

The last shot I had of her before she went to the shop. Peace!

damn sorry to hear about your motor. your car is still lookin clean as usual.. and boy. your homie's car is pretty low without a lipkit. i think he's lower than you too since his side mirrors are lower than yours. still sick tho.

the last pic makes your car look like it's raked o.o

Looking really nice. Like the front end, hopefully get it back up and running soon.

Did your buddy need to do any rolling to fit the 3G TL rims? Both cars looking clean!

Yea my car wasn't on an even ground level when he took that pic since there's a slight decline cause my car was right next to the driveway bump so it leans down to the passenger side. Idk if im lower or he is but were both really low haha. And you got a good eye bro in the last pic you can't see it but my rear passenger wheels are actually on the driveway so the front end is dipped more lol. I actually haven't seen my car on even ground in awhile cause it hasn't moved from the same spot but I still think the front is slightly lower it was a lot worst before the motor swap cause the 6 speed is so much lighter so it raised my front a bit.

Nope no custom work just the OEM mugen grill. The black letters are sort of faded though from it being so old

Looks great and good to hear she's running again. Nothing like being without your car for a while, it's painful. I think all you need now is some 15-20mm Ichiba spacers to flush that stance out a bit better. I have the same wheels for winter so I can appreciate the look

Yea man it was a long while for sure. At one point never thought I'd see her on the road again anytime soon. But it was worth it. As for spacers I've planned to run 15-20s if i dont buy new wheels first but just have so many other ideas I want to play with and where I want to take the car. But definitely stance is in the future for me. Thanks for the love. These wheels are just the start!

Sick ride man. Did you do anything in place of the orange diffusers when you cleared the headlights?

car's looking good bro. if you don't plan on getting rims for awhile, definitely invest in some spacers to bring those wheels out more towards the fenders. you'll love it more i can guarantee you that.

Once I repaint my Mugen wing. And my window visors I want to install everything at the same time. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

thanks. I would if I had money to blow, I was thinking of 20mm or 15mm but have other plans for the car in the meantime. Might get around to it, we'll see haha

got around to doing a very minor mod today cause I had some time. got the correct size rear Inspire H emblem for the 99-01 models from Marcus at HT. When I ordered it awhile back I got the 02-03 and it was too big so I just stuck it on with the 3M tape. Only reason I was worried about this was because there was no room for me to fit my Mugen spoiler on it because the badge came up too high, otherwise I wouldn't have cared.

correct size emblem with space on trunk for the spoiler.

how it used to look.

comparison. never realized how much of a difference it is until its side by side.
