Talking Pictures with Eibach Pro Kit...

well let me start this off and say i did this last night and i am all sore from doing this. second did not have air tools availible so it completley sucked. Third the hex bolts on top of the coils are impossible to get off with out stripping.

Here is the end link that is loose and stripped. Need to get a new one.

Here is the allen key used which broke in one of the coils, thank god for craftsman lifetime warrantee

Front springs... size difference isn't that much.

rear springs, almost the same height.

finished.

trying to get out of my garage, figured for sure i would scrape.

finished product.

the wheel gap is a little more than what it should be since im running a 40 sidewall height tire.

when it was all done i def fell in love with my car again, i don't know why they have that big of a gap to begin with.. To my surprise i live in a very hilly area and last night i drove around and i couldn't get it to scrape once.

the ride on the stock struts is really nice, not over bumpy but def more firm than before, some of the bump which i cringed on stock suspension actually don't feel so bad now, i don't know if that is good or bad. Handling is great there is no body roll, when accelerating and braking there is no squatting.

overall i am very happy with them. it def makes the car look pretty bad ass.
summer i need to get new struts.

Looks good, when you putting the rims on? They should settle a little bit more.

Way to stick with it - it looks good. I lowered mine a month ago and I have a factory kit and nothing scrapes, you just have to watch driveways and take it slow. I used Comptech springs and they road the same as my S-Type did stock. The ride will improve in a day or so as well. Make sure you get a rear camber kit. The kit will get those rear wheels sitting stright again, making your car look even tougher from the rear. Not to mention saving the hell out of your tires. Doing things yourself always gives you a great sense of pride - GREAT JOB!!!!!

how much did the rear camber kit go for.

I paid $110.00 for my rear kit. The replacement arms are really heavy duty and give you alot of adjustment. We were able to get the alignment perfect. The car will really ride and handle nice once the alignment is dead on.

Get an alignment done in a week -- it'll cost you more to replace all the tires than an alignment. Eibachs drop the car A LOT.

yea but if i have to get new struts any way in a month or 2 whats the point won't that screw up the alignment?

also if i get my car aligned and i need camber kit, so i pay for the alignment and get that done, install the camber kit and pay for another alignment?

not sure how that works.

I give you credit for doing it all my hand. I work at a dealership and have 14 techs and a full shop to help me and the backseat was still a pain in the a**. You are going to need that rear camber kit ASAP. If the Eibach lowers the car more then the Comptechs do then you might need a front kit as well. Your going to need the kits no matter what kind of struts you use so bite the bullet and do it right. Wait untill you see and drive the car with the wheels aligned. Nite and day difference.

well yea doing it by hand sucked. the rear springs did not have to be compressed with the spring compressor, the fronts were a pita. all i can say is that im still sore from doing all the work. my roomate helped getting every thing fitted. now that i looked at the camber today it does look off.

so where do i get the camber kits from?, sucks that something that looks so good takes soo much money / time to make it fit right.

thanks for the compliments. im really happy the way it came out. although i think the rear shocks are making some noise, which might be the loose endlink but won't be able to tell until i replace that.

ok did some research on camber kits and what not. eibach makes one? so should i go with theirs since i have their springs? some other kits have different degrees that they compinsate for.

so do i get the alignment first and they give me some sort of print out to tell me how far out it is? or do they adjust it as far as they can and then tell me? if you can't tell im pretty confused with what steps happen first.

cause if i get an alignment now they are gonna tell me i need camber kits. then i go back buy the kits install them then what? can i adjust it my self or do i have to pay for another alignment?

pretty damn confused, some one wanna help me out?

i've had all my slammed cars aligned without a camber kit, they just need the proper unit to do it.

I work at a dealership and had one of our ASE Techs align my car after I installed Comptech springs. Comptech claims that the car is lowered bi 1.5 inches. After the install the tops of the tires were pitched inward. Once on the alignment rack we realized that the rear was only off .7 on one side and .8 on the other, but there is no way to get it back to zero. The fronts were fine, all it needed was a toe adjustment. The same company makes Eibach and Comptech's camber kits. The rear arms are very heavy duty with a nice adjustable coller in the middle. We installed the rear arms and the camber easily adjusted to zero and we aligned the front to the rear for a perfect alignment. The car drove night and day better. I bought mine direct because I pay wholesale but NOPI might have the best price on the kit you need. TIP: take the arms completly apart before you install them and coat the threads with anti-seize. This will make future alignments much easier.

No - Buy the rear kit and install the arms. Try to make the arms close to the size of the ones your taking off. Drive directly to the alignment shop and get it aligned. Do not drive around for a few days and then get an alignment. Also look in your sunday paper you might find a coupon that will help out on the alignment. There is always post winter specials. You will not regret doing this.

ok next question lol...

i see some of these kits for cheap and others for 100 bucks or more. is there a rule of thumb?

also if the front needs an alignment can they square that away with the adjustments from stock? cause i thought you said i needed front and rear most likley?

thanks for the help.

You get what you pay for. If you lowered your car more then 1.5 my guess is that you will need a complete kit. I did not need a complete kit. Looking at your car I would get the rear kit first and get it aligned. If the front is out it will not be by much then you can get the front kit and get it realigned. It all depends on your funds and how much lower your car is. I know the Eibach and Comptech kits will give you a nice reliable quality replacement arm.

My civic was dropped 3" and got it aligned without a kit and my cl was on eibach sportlines so it settled close to 3" in the front and 2.5 in the back also got it aligned without a camber kit. My tires wore a bit but nothing too drastic..

man this is like one of those times id rather not spend like 200+ bucks on camber kits if i don't have to.

hopefully more people chime in.
