Pictures of Aluminum Dash Kit in Tan interior TL
I bought an aluminum dash kit for my 2000 TL with tan interior three weeks ago and finally got around to posting the pictures.
I actually have not installed the dash kit. I just layed them over the controls to get an idea of how it might look.
To my knowledge, no one has installed an aluminum dash kit in a tan interior TL. I don't think it looks too bad, however, I don't think I will be putting it in. It's just a little to over the top for me.
I will actually be selling this dash kit. If anyone is interested please PM me. I bought it for $160 plus shipping.
Pictures will be forth coming (as soon as I can figure out how to).
Let me know what you think about the dash kit.

I didn't know it was so difficult to post pictures.
I will not pay money to Acura Inspired just to post pictures of my dash kit.
The pictures are too big of a file for the basic free membership. Bullshit!
If there is another way to post pictures, please let me know.
If not, PM me and I will send you the pictures.

I think it'll look much better if it was real brushed aluminum. The vinyl seems too thick! If you paint the concole wood the same color as the dash board, I think it'll look even better. IMO!

If you notice, the last picture is different from the others. This kit came with pieces that fit around the heated seat buttons and also the flat surface around the shift trim piece. That is the main reason I bought this kit. I wanted to try and mix and match the extra pieces around the shift console.
I also price real brushed aluminum, but they were double the price. I think that the synthetic kits really look nice. They look like real brushed aluminum with a polyurethane coating on top.
The guy that I bought the 6 disc changer from had the brushed aluminum kit and left the piece on the face of the radio when he sent it to me. I thought it looked like the real thing, thats why I chose to go that route.
Joseph_99TL, thanks for posting my pictures!!!

IMO, i think it looks like ass. especially since you still have the wood trim on the sides. you would have been better going with the black and silver wood trim

It has adhesive backing. I just loose-laid the dash kit on to see how it would look.
I don't think it looks too bad, however, I will not be installing it in my TL. Since I installed the white overlays on the gauges, it has kind of broken up the plain, bland look of the stock dash, which is why I was thinking of the dash kit.
If anyone is interested in buying the kit from me, please PM me.

If it looks to tacky with the burlwood, than I might have to paint the wood on the console and doors the same color as the front top dash/black or silver. On top of that I would do the shift plate mod chrome. I'll figure it out somehow. The deal was to good to let it go. I just recently checked ebay, and they still have it for $125 from evolutionautodesign.com.

If your talking about the wood inserts on the doors and shiftgate console, I haven't seen any. They do make custon to fit but that would cost you. Didn't even ask how much!
