check my sig... yeah, it rattles...

i've managed to eliminate most of the rattle, but it is an on-going effort, and every time i get rid of one, another one pops up. Oh well... the sacrifices we make for bump, right?

the enclosure is actually a 10" regular sub box ported out to fit the square shape of the solo-baric woofer. as you probably know, solo-barics work better in smaller than normal sealed boxes... you just need plenty of power pushing it.

i'm pushing 1000w rms through this supposedly 750w rms max woofer with no problems whatsoever. if anything, i think the sub can handle even more wattage.

I think its worth it. It can handle alot of power, the frequency response is GREAT, and it looks cool. Every time I open up my trunk, people are impressed, because it's different than the standard old round woofer.

haha, got my trunk dynomatted yesterday and no rattles whatsoever!!!! i hate rattles and it sounds very ghetto...what helps a lot with the rattle if you stick like a couple of circular layers of dynomat or some kind of sticky stuff under the rubber stops on your trunk...therefore your trunk doesnt rattle cuz its pressured up more on the rubberstop...just stick the circular pieces of rubber in a stack on the plastic cover where the rubber stops meet near the latch and I guarantee that will help a lot...good luck...Shyne

if you need pics, ill show you what im talkin about...

My system

Here is my system.....
Boston 6.53 components on the front
Boston 6x9's RM9 series in the back
Speakers run on a Xtant 100x4 Amp
3 Boston 12" Pro Series Subs
Subs powered by an XTANT 1000W amp
Both amps powered by monster caps (1 farand each)
Subs enclosed in a custom fiberglass encasing (filling my whole trunk) color matched to the car and lit up with custom neon

My opinion the best fu#king system money can buy!

I had a audio place install it for me.. i know its simple, but I find it aggravating to run 4-guage everywhere in my car. id rather someone else do it for me.

btw.. that solo-baric is 12" woofer. and honestly, it hits harder than a couple of my friends' systems who have 2 12s in their trunk. cost was minimal... case and labor were both pretty reasonable. the woofer, of course, being the most expensive thing.
