u could make it aspec style.. check out big mike 13's car.. u can do some gutter guard grill work but that's ugly.. IMO

here, just look at my avatar. I'm not sure how custom you would considfer my grill, but its just mesh that i added into it but alot of members has asked me about it cuz they like the look of it.

And to XXXboboXXX.....your ride looks HOTTT.....NICE The chrome on the hood breaks it up but it would probably look sick blacked out, too.

how did you guys do the a-spec style paint? did you mask it off? is it all removable on an 03 hood? i didnt think the chrome stripe (center of hood) was removable.

yea u can take out the grill on the 03s, i duno bout em much since, the 99-00 was on the hood, duno how easy it is on the 02+

Kiran, I think the chrome strip is removable. I think I remember looking one time and it is fastened to the hood by screws if I'm not mistaken.

how did everybody get it painted? DIY? I remember their being paint kits where you can just put in your color code on some website and they sent u a kit of paint and prep materials and what not.

its a diy thing. Take it off sand it good, and i mean good. Get a good primer(etching if possible to find) and then go to your local auto paint sotre (not auto PARTS) and see if they custom mix in cans. If not go on line to Tower paints. they will custom mix with your paint code into spray cans.

Let me see ur grille

I don't get on the computer much and just joined. I'm looking to do a front grille tho and also am upgrading to 18inch Mezzanno MZ-5 wheels in black w/polished lip on Toyo Proxy 4 tires. I have a black '02 type S w/Nav....I cant find any grills tho, any help would be appreciated

chrome strip on the hood, has 4 bolts, they are 10mm just open the hood and feel behind the chrome strip and you'll find them, just unscrew them, slide the strip the to the left and pull, mostly likely you'll have to give it some force.

for the other section, just take the grill off theres a diy removal on this forum just search for it, and then theres lik 8-10 philips screws holding that trim piece onto the grill.

hm i did this a while back but the paint ended up not glossy at all and dull like primer. and it wasn't smooth to the touch. I sanded it down pretty good painted and clearcoated. suggestions?

wetsand color and clear coats and then wax maybe?
