thanks guys for the comps....as far as how much money ive put into the car, dont remind me

there is a single cutoff line with the projectors, i just have to adjust them. once i do that, i will post some pics of the cutoff. the light output really isnt as bad as many ppl say on the internet, but they definately arent as sharp as s2000 projectors, or ls430 projectors. keep in mind that you cant do the washer mod or anything like that with these projectors (those asking questions about the light output etc. know what im talking about as far as the flicker you see on bmws and audis, again, i havent played with them so i dont know yet, but i am guessing it wont be as intense as a single projector would be.

tpatel-no red in the trunklid, because there is no red anywhere else in the trunk...so i deicded to keep it grey/black/silver.

jack n coke - yup larry did come through.

brian-the green clips are to hold the trunk lid up while i took pics, it is way too heavy to support itself. i have to get hydraulic shocks installed to hold it up like kris did.

as for day 5, its not an SC. i think i **MAY** add some FI (turbo or SC) this winter, but im not sure yet. day 5's mods are acutally not as big as the past few days, just some small things.

thanks again guys.

ok guys, here is the last installment. unfortunately some of them arent complete but i didnt want to dissapoint.

first, 7" widescreen accele monitors (yet to be wrapped in black suede to match the headliner). they are really thin and light, and have sick resolution. stock visor width was not increased at all.

next thermoblock spacers, :blah:

next, this piece looks like shit cuz its not wrapped yet. i cut out the center of the stock rear deck, to allow the sub to be more effective, and more bass to come into the cabin. it is going to be wrapped in padded charcoal suede, like the trim in the cabin. all the yellow stuff is glue from the old black suede that was on there before.

seasons supply of zaino, cant wait to get tennis elbow

just a random shot of my garage, showing all the random ass parts in there, waiting to be installed and/or put back in.

a shot of the wheels ready to be put back on

thanks for viewing my thread! any ques, fire away

Clean the IM when you install the spacers. It is very satisfying! I used 3 cans of carb cleaner hehe Make sure you have a sturdy brush for the job because those deposits are tough...

Love your car, artistic capabilities, and will to try new/risky projects.

Good work.

Did I say sturdy earlier...reminds me...I need to STUDY

oh well...

Sorry bro i would have to respectfuly disagree.

Output wise the best projectors are Lexus LS 430 (for their super wide beam).
Cut off sharpness and also output wise the best projectors are S2000s.
Looks wise Q45 projectors hands down.
Btw TSX projectors arent bad either. .
I am sure njzprettyboy knows that since he has been on HIDplanet.com for a while as well just like me eyeing all the different options and then choosing Q45 .

everything you have posted is the truth. one thing that i didnt like too much about the Q45s is that you cant do the washer mod to make the cutoff line super sharp, nd get more color out of it. I kinda had to go with the Q45s b.c of the huge headlight housing I have...but if i still had the oem headlights, i would def have gone with the ls430 or s2000s, with a nice custom shroud. jNc, you are right, I have been browsing HIDplanet for quite some time...even back when it was hidforum.com .... I was one of the first guys on this forum to have 6000Ks in my original oem housings, bought em from suvlights.com (some of the OG's might remember this site)....and I also had one of the first retrofits ever, before they were as common as they are now. i had them done by bobatimez, another OG on this board. the work was pretty bad and primitive, but it looked cool from the outside. back than i didnt know much about projectors, not many people acutally did hehe, so i thought the bigger the better, and went with a set of X5 projectors. boy was i wrong! anyways, I am surprised there arent many of the 99-01 TL'ers who have a projector retro, as the housings and space are ideal as can be. As far as the 02-03, im not sure how it would look with the bigger housings.

Interesting.
Just by eyeing it I wouldn't think the s2k's were brighter then the Q45's; maybe because of that beautiful cutoff. And I always thought the LS430's were a nice blend between them both, visible cutoff but still all over the place.
Anyways I've never drove any of them at night so i'm just judging by quick drive-bys on the freeway.

Any chance of a name change in the near future? SFCZprettyboy....maybe that way u can make it to the april meet.... lol

NB all you need now is the shift knob. Anyway how much did you spend? Did it really take a day to do that mod? Do you have DIY for that install?
