do not flush, rather drain and fill!
an automatic has clutch packs which holds a little bit of fluid....
so, you'll want to do this drain and fill, 3 times...
the first time, the car will drain 3 quarts...refill with 3 quarts...
drive about 500-1000 miles...
drain another three quarts...and fill it back up with 3 quarts...
drive about 500-1000 miles...
and lastly, drain the last 3 quarts and fill it back up with three quarts...

if you followed along, you're going to need at least 9 quarts of fluid to perform this drain and fill.
