My name is Jeff, and I just bought my 2000 silver TL. I picked it up for $3000, it has 200k miles on it, and now that it is all cleaned up, i consider it a steal. I have little one on the way soon, so i am not sure how rapidly the mods will come. I am looking forward to learning a lot from the threads.

 

Welcome! Looking at your car reminds of me when i first got mine! No front plate and all. Youve got a nice platform to start with. Be sure to check out the 2nd gen diy thread for some nice easy mods. What are your plans for the car?

 

welcome. thats a clean looking tl. before mods i would do all the maint on it.

 

To Ivey's point, I am going to take it to the shop for an oil change a front brakes soon. While there I am hoping they can scope the car out to see if anything major needs to be done. The guy I bought it from said that the tranny had been replaced about 25k ago, I have read about the tranny issues on these cars and hope he was not trying to pull a fast one on me.
1) I would like to upgrade the tail lights to lights off an 02-03.
2) Stiffen up the suspension (deff lower it), and add 3rd gen Type-S wheels.
3) Then I would like to add a lip kit and re-paint.
I'll keep it simple, no need to turbo or mod 200k+ mile motor.
