Passport

My2Sense, i also have a passport 8500. is it hard to direct wire it, and since you have it up near the top how far do you have to aim it down?

nah.. its a pretty simple installation job. Just find the right wire to splice into. The only hard part is fitting yourself into the cramped space... and getting light under there to see what you're doing. I wired through the a-pillar, which just pops off.

i dont understand the second part of your question... i dont have to aim it down.. it's mounted under the passenger sunshade -pretty much at a 0 degree angle, and I can see the LED display just fine from the driver's seat.

you can get a smart cord direct-wire. it's like 30 bucks. I saw some guy who installed it in the blank space next to the foglight button. it looked pretty good... I just got the standard direct-wire though. suits my needs just fine as I would probably never use the mute button anyways.
