Also, his dad owns a racetrack, so we ran them just for fun. I knew he was faster, but it was fun to race anyway. Im not sure how my TL stacks up against other TL's, but I was surprised that the mustang wasnt even that much faster than me, his car is a RWD coupe that is 8 years newer than mine and he was less than a second faster in the 1/8 mile.

I was dead on the first race, but then the second race I broke out big time, that was the fastest it ran all night.

is that a V6 mustang? if that's the case, you should be as fast if not faster than him.

it is a v6... no hood scoop. and yes ur car should beat it. type s' can almost keep up with the gts

 

90s GTs are nothing on my car, and mine's a base model.. Newer v6s (pictured) are slower than civics/integras..

He has the v6, but he has exhaust too, he said it adds around 15-20 hp, and mine is not a type-s. Also, i know i could have gotten at least a little faster but I had my subs in the trunk and a full tank of gas.

I have tsudo axleback exhaust.

Nice! You should have beat him tho....I havent raced the 05+ body mustangs...but i have outran both bodystyle GTs before them..

 

the only way that exhaust will add 15-20 hp is if he is pretty bolted up under the hood
