hm.. you're asking two different questions, which could be asked in the main thread instead of the photography section. but i'll help you out here since you're new:

1) in some states, yes it is illegal to tint your rear taillights. you can get a fix-it ticket for that. check dmv.ca.gov for more info (assuming you are from san jose)

2) seems like you're debating which car to choose; 2002 acura tl-s or 2000 lexus gs300 with both 160k miles on the clock.

--

you might want to look at which car has had the most maintenance. both cars are good imo. i'm actually going to pick up a 2nd gen gs300/gs400 in the summer and i'm not too worried about mileage as long as the previous owner has taken care of the car with up to date maintenance.

the acura tl.. you should look for when the tranny was replaced since it's at 160k miles; big recall on that. don't wanna be picking up a car with a slipping tranny cause it'll eventually lead to a dead tranny and it'll cost you a few grand to fix.

sometimes if u tint ur rear tail lights and get rear ended, ur insurance may not cover any damage because they will say ur lights were not visible
