I like Acuras, And clean headlights!

So my headlight was starting to fog up pretty bad and the HID/High beams went out on me out of no where. I've wanted to re seal them and clean them up anyhow, Well now is a perfect time.

Took the headlight out and water came pouring out of the ballast After checking the fuses i found out the 20a blew. Replaced it and the high beams worked again, HID Ballast was bad

I didn't do a step by step DIY but will if needed. I had some fun with a friend or two today working on the car and I ended up with this!

10 minutes after opening the hood, It looks like this.

I washed it up, Put on stock suspension and stock wing. Looks better then before IMO ( lowered with no wing) Now i need to find 02-03 TL-S wheels.

Before:

During:

Cleaning out the inside.

With 1500 grit

With 2000 grit and cleaned

Done:

Both cleaned, sealed, buffed and waxed

Thanks, I didn't seal them up yet but I'm going to use either OEM Honda sealant or go to the local Auto Store and grab some. Best way is to heat the old sealant up and push the lens on it while keeping some heat on it. Let it sit and it should seal perfect.

I was bored and did my RSX-S lights too, They just needed some compound and wax. Looks brand new!

Should replace the signal bulb with a chrome bulb that lights up yellow. Good job though, looks really good.

Yeah....why'd you put on the OEM spoiler and put on the stock suspension...that's so bizarre to me.

Not a fan of the look, you know higher than stock look. But if thats what you like then cool.

Lights look good. Look into the clear bulbs for the turn signals.

Never liked the oem wing, or how high these cars are. Seems like you are moving backwards, but to each his own. At least the headlights look good.

So how do you go about maintaining them clear? I did my legacy with oxidized lenses and 4 months later they are starting to slowly cloud again. My tl has light hazing at the top of the lights and I want them looking new again.

Rubbing Compound helps oxidation, Buff it. Then wax! Keeps them nice and clear, Well for me as you can tell lol

How often would you need to wax to get some decent life out of sanded lenses? I waxed it after the initial buff. Should I have waxed it monthly. Really wanna do my TL but I'd rather just leave it alone if I have to repeat the process every few weeks.

IMO, I think you have to take care of headlights just like paint, If you don't take care of them they turn to crap. I usually just rub some wax on after i wash it. Takes two seconds and always keep them 100%. But I don't think you would have to do it every two weeks lol

It'll be like $40-50 for the sealant and products lol I'm down though. It'll be easier to have them off and bring them to me. It'll take exactly 1 day to do everything including sealing and letting it bond.
