Post Hands-Free Install

Here's a picture of my custom hands-free setup for my StarTac tri-band cell phone. The mount is made from aircraft aluminum, covered with matching parchment leather.

I guess it's a just a matter of personal taste...IMO the wood looks best as an accent, not the focus...to me the TL looks best with the right balance of wood, black panels, and the two colors of the dash panels....they set each other off so well. I had some other wood pieces I didn't use because I thought it messed up the balance. I do like the way the Inspire overhead wood piece looks, though, although you can't see it in this picture. Speaking of the Inspire wood trim, what's really nice about the vent pieces is the amount of coverage, with cutouts for the vent wheel. I haven't seen that with other kits.

I agree with you totally on the wood.
Ok, not what kit is that? The wood vents look great, not some little rinky dinky ring.

I got the wood kit from Tim. Since it's the one for the Inspire he had to order it from Japan...it wasn't cheap...but worth it anyway!

Good work. How did you fasten the mount to the console? I was going to do something similar but I doubt I could make one as nice as yours. What would it take to have you make one for me? Of course I'd pay

It's mounted with 3M double-sided tape - holds well and doesn't require any holes. Of course, it could also be bolted on. All you need is some 1/8" aluminum bent at 90 degrees, matching leather, a motorola star-tac holder and a hands-free speaker and microphone unit (I got the electronics from Everything Wireless).
