I've been on this forum for a year and a bit and love the TL but i recently bought a Lexus IS300. The TL is still kept in the family.

Auto Is300 can handle a hell of alot more power than the manual, unless of course you go with the 6 speed
Love the IS300, such a nice clean look and look so much better when tastefully modded.

^that may be but the original IS is seriously the only toyota/lexus that I would ever consider owning.
toyota hit a homer with that IS but then they really shit the bed with the newer one. They managed to find a way to inject all the beige, appliance-feeling into it. I mean seriously Japanese automakers are really losing what made them great in the 90s and early 00s. They tried to compete way to much with the Germans which in part made them lose their uniqueness.
Sure they sell really well. But they sold their souls for money, not that i'm surprised.
And what is everyone's obsession with FF? I know the TL is FF and its seriously the only knock (tranny aside) that I can put on it, but even companies that traditionally made badass FR coupes and sedans have all switched to FF. I don't get where the japs could decide to mimic the germans so closely and yet completely change what makes small german cars (vw excluding) so much fun.
shit gets me in a fit and is why I love the used market. If I could only find a way to reliably import JDM cars, I'd be in heaven.
good job with the sale btw. you made the proper choice.

idk...i was really glad my TL was FF last winter.
and ive been driving FF/AWD cars my whole life so im used to the horrendous understeer. if you learn the proper techniques, FF cars can be really fun to thrash around. obviously not if you want a fast time on a track though...

It is true yes, but I've always been partial to FR cars. I must preface this by saying that since I could drive I've been obsessed with drift
I owned a 94 mustang as my first car (was pretty trashed but had a v8 and a 5spd) I drifted on bald tires all summer (was broke haha) and apart from going really fast it is about as much fun as you can have while driving.
I'm in the process of selling my X5 (was a very poor choice of automobile. useless for pretty much everything) and once i do that I'm going to go hunting for a clean used e30 or something japanese with FR and a stick. Toss some lightweight rims on it with fat tires and use it as a drift machine and the TL as my continued dd
can't wait!
