Illest- yeah man, I was lazy to. Then I was looking at the engine and said $uck it!!! let me hook it up. You going to the meet right? See you there kid.
Plat- I was looking at that plastic, but I think I am going to keep it black cause I might be shooting my front grill this sat. To much silver would be overkill I think. I am going with the aspec style front grill. Plat see you at the meet. Hit me up son
Wside09- I got the all the stuff at autozone. I got the foamy degreaser, worked really good!!!!!! I got a can of Gray primer high heat, then I got a can of the high heat paint. Anywhere you go just ask and they will help you out. Very easy to do, trust me.
Nguyen- Nah man, no clear coat. I was thinking about it. Its looks really good up close. Maybe later.
Thanks for the complements guys.

I am not sure on that. I own the car so if I trade it in that's how it is. I dont see why it would be a problem, plus who ever gets the car is getting a fly looking engine cover already, not some corny Black cover.

As for a painted engine cover, I don't think the next potential buyer is really gonna "care" too much so as long as it's not "over the top". Not too wild a color scheme and the people you're trading it in for ... I don't think you will lose value since it's only plastic (ie cosmetic). If not ... junk yard and find a replacement OR ... post on black market and do a trade with someone.

I agree with D, It shouldn't be a problem, if it is just do what he says. If I were to buy a TL and I saw the engine like that I would be like true its already hooked up. I say if you want to do it, like nike just do it. Who cares what other people think!!!!! Remember its your ride.

Well you need a degreaser to remove all the crap thats on those parts. I took mine to one of those DIY carwashes and used the brush and hose there to remove and clean these parts. Got to have them very clean to do a good job. You use the degreaser, clean the parts, let them dry. Then you use the primer to lay down a coat of primer. I used 3 coats. I then used the paint and laid down 4 coats of paint. I only used half the can for this project. Trust me a very easy mod. If you do this, post some pics when you done.

to be honset with you I am not sure if you can do it cause its plastic. One thing I might do is to clear coat it. You can try to see if there is anyway to polish it but I dont think so. I might do the battery cover and see how the clear coat looks.

Looks awesome man, did this today too. But I have a question, for anyone who painted theirs red, what color paint did you use? I got Ford Red Dupli High Temp paint and it turned out a bit orange and looks kinda stupid. So im gonna redo this tomorow.
