eBay replica 02-03 oem lip kit installed
if you guys want more info on the story and details of the process, the link to my process thread is below
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-116/ebay-replica-02-03-oem-lip-kit-pics-862765/
anyways, it took me 5 hours of prep, paint, gloss, and 3 hours of rigging and screwing to install the cheap eBay kit. i advise spending the extra dough and getting oem kit. the pieces aren't flush and it took modifying to get each piece to fit...3 hours of pain staking work in 90 degree weather...
since it's a cheap ebay kit, i decided to just spray can it with $60 worth of duplicolor paint..
i just finished a few mins ago so i went off and took a few quick pics at the supermarket
i'll post more pics tomorrow for daytime look

great job on making it fit but the shade of color is off, which bothers me. i know when i had my 2g in anthracite metallic.. it was a bitch to get my lipkit matched up to the body color. had it repainted several times and it still didn't match up. i'm currently doing what you're doing to your lipkit, but instead on my front bumper.
i used a spraycan too but it was paint matched professionally and it cost me $18-20 a can. i just finished wetsanding and buffing it and it literally looks like a professional grade paint job with no orange peel!

nice, i didn't really do a quality job with sanding so i got orange peel on the side skirts ugh!
i bought the $6.99/can duplicolor "perfect match" paint and it's def not a perfect match haha
i wasn't originally planning to ghetto paint it but after the package arrived and i better observed and realized "i got what i paid for" i decided EFF it I'm just going to spray can it and get genuine later on
i'd imagine naples gold metallic isn't an easy color for anyone to match tho

Not bad at all. I stumbled across your thread in the parts section and was going to give you kudos on a nice step by step process of the prep to the installation.
This should help out other members who are searching for the quality / look of a replica, so thanks for the share! Car looks good, post up some day time shots!

the black should be much less noticeable, my color is so bright in some lights it's super obvious it's spray canned lol
so far the kit has held up really well. no cracking whatsoever and i've bottomed out the front about 6 times hard too...damn new england roads...
the paint, surprisingly, has little to no wear. there's like 3-4 small chips from rocks on the front but otherwise still really good. i'm imagining the winter cold and snow won't be so friendly though.

Looks good! The color is a bit off but I've seen worse, especially with 3G lip kits.
Now it's time to ditch those wheels

Fiberglass isn't that bad. I've had a few fiberglass kits on previous cars and never had major issues aside from very minor fitting due to the fact it was a replica. But I never once cracked or split one. I really think it comes down to the driver lol.
I still think it looks good and I would highly consider it if I ever needed to replace my front or sides. What was the sellers name on eBay?
