DIY Roof Spoiler
For those of you that saw my previous post when I color matched my headlights here, https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/how-your-fire-dept-works-%2A%2Avid-clip%2A%2A-161651/ I mentioned that I was beginning a new process of making an affordable roof spoiler from a 6th Gen Accord Roof Spoiler.
The spoiler in its original form can be seen/purchased here, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-9...spagenameZWDVW
It was a pretty simple process. I just put some paper across the back windshield and traced the outline of the roof. I then cut out the trace and attached it to the spoiler with tape. I traced the outline onto the spoiler as best I could with an exacto knife. There is probably a better way to do it, but thats how I went about it. I then cut the spoiler with my dremel and made the curves with the sander bit. Once finished, u can either leave it black or paint it to match like I did. I left my camera at work, so pics will come tomorrow!

These are just a couple quick preliminary shots to give an idea what the spoiler looks like. I am def not satisfied with my paint job, and I cut the sides a tad too short. But I don't think its too bad for a first attempt. I plan to redo it in the next couple of weeks.
Thoughts/opinions are welcome.
And yea, I know the SL's are discontinued, just never updated my sig.

interesting, i would like to see some more close up shots.
It looks better than i thought it would in my mind. I like the effort though, i also customed my own roof spoiler.

dude tahts really sick man. great job.
i think you should have lowered it on the windshield a lil more so itll flow with the roof on down.
can you take some closer pics?

more pics
You can see in the above photos how I managed to cut the sides too short. Going to fix that on version 2. Hope these pics provide better details for you guys.

Thanks for the comments. I didnt say it was perfect and a sarona is def the better option. I dont think it's to bad for a first crack at it. I'm going to try it again in a few weeks, hopefully with better results.

Ditto on what everyone else is saying pretty much. Good idea, and good attempt, bad results for the first try. It's ok though, the greatest inventions in life weren't perfect when they first started out so keep trying. This reminds me of when I did the whole M3 roof spoiler mod on my Accord.
I'm actually working on a DIY rear lip for the Accord coupes as well, which is turn out alright so far.
