from what i can tell they didnt do a good job.. instead of shaving them and making the door contour flush.. they just filled it in and left a dip down the door. id rather have teh moldings back instead of having the appearence of a LONG dent lol

That same dip is the body shape and its suppose to look like that, shaved moldings pretty much are when the holes are filled up......but Im sure it would look DIFFERNT because personally out of the years I had my TL, I never seen anyone with shaved moldings........and I shaved out the moldings on my old car and it looked much cleaner........

Wait a minute...I've think I've seen pics of this one on the forums before.

If I recall this is the guy with bucket seats in his TL front and rear and a R33 conversion taillight...unless that was an accord.

Interesting look indeed........on a side note, i dont think that integra shaved its side moldings, i think its a legit ITR where there were no side modlings in the first place. I might be wrong though.

Wrong, shaving the moldings means it would appear that nothing was ever there. What you are talking about is just filling in some clip holes.

Serious guys? The teal integra's molding goes inwards towards the door, so its like a dent/hole in the door so you fill it in, thats why its flush. That newer integra, or that R, has just holes, so when you shave it, you just fill in the holes. Civics are like that teal integra, if you take out the moldings, theres just a long grove with no moldings, so they fill it in. Like the a cx civic hb has no molding so you have to fill it in.

Thats why some shaved molding are flush and some arent.

i guess?

i've never met/saw anyone who paid money to get rid of door moldings only to leave an inverted version of it on the door.. the purpose of shaving moldings is to give it a smoother cleaner look... not to replace something poking out with something poking in....

im sure there are many cars with doors done like that hatch.. doesnt mean its not ugly

shaving = smooth SHAVED surface... not leaving indentions in the car.

would you shave a door handle and leave the hole were it used to be just bondo'ed up? no

but whutev mang... people spend their money how they want i guess

all i was getting at was he had put so much money into the car yet looked over something cosmetic that could easily have been done much cleaner

Correct
yeh but filling in clip holes are apart of the shaved look bro, I usually seen people just pop off the molding and get the holes filled, that so called "dent" remains but looks much cleaner without the moldings......

At least you know what I'm talking about man. Not trying to start anything here, just stating the differences. And that hatch i was stating comes stock like that, cx does not come with moldings.
