Oh, if you didn't think that 19"x8.5" with a +45 offset wouldn't work, here you go. As you can see with my sig, the car is definatly on the way... What should be my next mod? Opinion please!

That statement sums it all up for me!

Very nice. So you didn't have to cut the "bumper tabs" or anything?

BTW what the heck does a bumper tab look like?

looks nice 'cept for the sticker. Funny but if you going for the clean look. which you car is look like, LOOSE THAT STICKER. Nice choice of rims BTW. That was one of my choice slong with axis muse gunmetal, Gewalt III EVo which I end up geting, and something else but I didnt want rims with a lip so I went with the Gewalt. That way mt rims look bigger. ANYHOW, nice ride!

You see, most people who see a young person driving a nicer car automaticly assume that It was your parents who baught the car. This is my answer to that. There are many people that think that I shouldn't have my car and this is simply my response to all of those people. "You should just sell it" is what I got plenty of times, "shut the fuk up and it's "powered by deez nuts"... not to you, just to all of those people who couldn't see it coming...

i hear ya, but i dont get when being poor became the cool thing to be. even if your parents did get you the car so what? i dont see why ppl think like that. so your parents bought you a car, why does that take away from the person? i dunno, im jus sayin....

neways, the car looks sick. im tryin to get similar 18's when i get the money together. your 19's look sick but potholes are a bitch!

next mod: DEF get the oem or WW kit!!!

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 15mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 35mm (1 3/8")

If you say so.

At +45 offset, he will rub (unless he's trimmed his wheel well tabs or rolled his fenders).

my rims rims are 19 x 8.5 with a +48 offset, and it sits perfect with no rubbing at all with a 2.3 drop and 235-35-19 inch toyos

Your wheels look sweet!

I love this forum... but if we listened to these guys telling us that 19x8.5 wouldn't fit I'd still be rolling on my stocks.

By the way how you find out that 8.5's would fit?

Didn't you have to make some modifications? I remember something about cutting the tabs.

Correct on the strut housing... it is less than 15mm, however it doesn't rub... As for the second statement: Do you have them on your car? I have them running dropped all the way down on Ground Controls with a full Alignment done and no rubbing or scraping on either end. I did however roll the fenders in the back and cut tabs, but that is beside the point. There are too many people who THINK that the 19"x8.5" +45 won't work when it will... You will have about a 1/4" tops lip in the front, but the back is tucked. Keep in mind that I am running 225/35/19 rubbers. They do look "stretched" however they definatly do not impact the performance. I will take more pics when I put the rims back on for spring and show you guys exactly what I am talking about, otherwise, they fit just fine!

Any size of wheel will fit if you roll the fenders and cut the tabs. Heck, I can go with +42 or lower offset wheel, and have custom flared wheelwells if I want to make the wheels fit. The whole point of getting proper offset wheels in the first place is so that you don't have to roll the fenders or cut the tabs. IMHO, rolling the fenders or cutting the tabs is not the right way to make a wheel fit your car. And I can safely bet that if you didn't roll your fenders or cut your tab, you will rub.

Nice car but if you had to roll your fenders to make the wheels fit that means they don't fit

WRONG!

Rolling fenders IS NOT fairing them. Rolling your fenders is when you use a roller to pull the inside of the fender towards the outer side while not augmenting the look of the outside of the car. On the TL If you feel the inner side of the fender you will notice a .5" lip that is what is rolled and that is what gives you the room to go with a bigger wheel.

P.S.
Don't post just for the sake of posting. Know at least a little about what you're talking about or just ask it as a question.

i think you misunderstood what he wrote. try re-reading it again. he didnt say rolling fenders is "fairing" them. he said they he could get any size wheels and make them fit, but to do that he would have to FLARE out the wheels wheels or cut/roll the fender lip. all in all, what he was saying, is that if you had to do absolutely any cutting or rolling of the fenders, the wheels do not fit correctly.
