XS issues.....

SO. My headers have been on order for over a month, and I have gotten nothing but shitty customer service, and "we will get back to you"s about my order up until 2 days ago.

Apparently, they are out. They are on backorder and it will be ANOTHER 45 days.

I know the product is better than the price, but this is sure some $150 customer service...

Its probably because all the slave labor factories in china were shut down because of the Olympics. But seriously when the mechanic put them on for me he said the welds looked a little iffy but its been holding up for like a year and a half can't complain.

Wow you still haven't got them! I was just about to pm you about how you liked them.

You should cancel your order and try ssautochrome.com

Thats where I ordered mine from. I ordered on a Monday and had them on Wed.

BTW, I did have to wrap the flex pipe on my headers b/c of resonance. I still have a bunch of wrap if you don't have any and need some for your flex pipe.

Funny, when I did a search on "ssautochrome" in Google. It came up with lots of negative comments on their headers in numerous car forums.

we already know they dont have the best quality thats why their dirt cheap.. but what im seeing on google is ppl complaining about their turbo kits, headers are just pipes but a turbo is a bit more complicated

And most of that was probably turbo application stuff. They are cheap. Look at the price. But for our NA application they arent bad. 75k miles on mine now trouble free

I will just wait, I want to deal with them the least I can. I might take you up on the wrap tho. Did it solve your problem?

yea it solved the problem....well I had two problems

1st problem- cat heatshield had rusted around the farthest top bolt and was rattling do to much more exhaust flowing...I just bought 2 large hose clamps from lowes and clamped each side together problem solved.

2nd problem- xs headers flex pipe was leaking thought TINY holes and making a lot of resonance. It sounded like a buzzing sound...almost like a bug zapper or bee in a can. I used a little bit of exhaust wrap just on the flex pipe...no more noise! I would just wrap the flex pipe before you install the headers. I wrapped the flex pipe while it was installed, but it would be 100,000x easier off the car

BTW, if you ever know of any meets/shows pm me or give me a call.

Would their cat back set-up be worth it to just do a full set-up from them or not? I am thinking different mufflers if I could just get the pipes.

If you are going to do different mufflers just use stock exhaust and get resonators removed. Exhaust is already free flowing enough as it is .
