XLR8 HF CAT Install

I am having an issue with the 02 sensor not being long enough to reach the bung on the new cat.

My last resort is to splice-in some wire as an extension.

Anybody have any ideas?

i just undid the wiring connecter from the body (where it clips on), and it just reaches barely, but you do not need an extension.

but extending the wiring on the o2 would proably be a better idea though

i know i do have comptech headers on mine though, which might be that fraction of an inch shorter to allow mine to plug in (i don't see any headers in your sig)

but did you also undo that first clip on the wire itself too, right next to the connecter

yep i did an it still wudnt reach.. but if u have headers than it mite wrk.(idk for sure tho) jus jack ur car up an see if it'l reach. if not, then either take it to a shop an theyl extend the wires for u, or u can go buy ur own wire an soldering iron an get to wrk.

or if you got a car that you can borrow is take off the rear o2 , then get some one to extend it (should be cheaper because you are not tying up a bay then) just make sure to measure to know exactly how long you need it (and it is better to be a little long, cause you can always zip tie the extra wire outta the way,

or yeah just extend it yourself

Case closed!

I ended up disconnecting the harness-clip from the body and it gave me just barely enough to reach.

Thanks for the replies.

This is all that's necessary. On this cat we did a metallic core and moved the O2 bung forward so that an extension would not be necessary.

just barely though

also it would be nice if it did include new gaskets with it too, insted of having to source them afterwards

also i was wounder how many washes (coats) do the cats go through, and i figure they are not CARB legal as replacements ethier

So do we need gaskets for the Cat?

I didn't even think about it, if we did I would've assumed they would've been supplied with the cat, guess not.

if the O2 wire just barely reaches i would get a small extender. Any tension on it from the exhaust swaying (which on our cars it does) can damage the wiring/O2. Thats my

but the exhaust also does not sway very much up there compared to the mufflers (it does go foward and back some though [mainly foward though] from the engine rocking, which would give it more slack), but as said before getting an extension would be better then just being able to make the connection
