I got rear ended by an SUV and the tow truck guy said it wasn't repairable but then some ppl told me that it was after showing them the pic!

Links aren't working right now. Either way, don't listen to some tow truck guy. Your insurance company will determine if the car is worth repairing. The problem with our cars is the actual car value. Our cars are getting old, and the KBB value of almost all of our cars is under 10k, if not 5k. Even serious damage can be repaired, but 5k isn't get you far. My car had hail damage that had repair costs bordering the car value. I didn't want a salvage title, so I took what the insurance company would give me.

you got rear ended by an suv!!!-- I can pretty much guarantee that thing pushed what little semblance of a frame we have-- into a massive crushed beer can sculpture wannabe
assuming they had insurance: its on their company to review your car, at your home or a body shop location of your choosing,,
body shop runs their inspection and estimate and their car value guide says if its likely a total
you can argue higher value for any recent major repairs..trans replaced or 105 service, or specialty parts that cant be removed or were damaged--exhaust,rims, tires etc
their insurance looks at the shop estimate and compares to their estimators version,
makes a decision to offer a buyout as totaled, or repairs it and give you back a car with reduced value from severe accident
a 99 with original trans or similar year/situation and they would offer a decent amount on,, I would run and buy a used honda or toyota with the money
get yourself to a chiro for xrays,,neck and back probs in that type accident may not be appearant to you today,, and in a week you collapse walking into the kitchen

look in the phone book or ask your agent for referrals to local shops
ck reviews of shop before you go there!!
Call and ask for an insurance inspection and give the other persons insurer info to them
This is a normal part of their job, they make all the calls and keep you updated as things progress,,it can take days with insurance companies
let the shop know if you wouldnt mind keeping the car,, or it has other problems and a sweet buyout would make your holiday
