what mods to do

basically im pretty new to modding. the only thing that ive really done to my car is the sound system (head unit, subs, amp). wheres the best place to start with performance? i worked over the summer but i dont have much money left (spent on audio) so something basic would be cool. thanks!

a lot of members do the above mods. I worked my way backwards. I did the suspension first because i love the handling way better. Whats the use of having more additional power if the car cant handle it or put it to the ground. thats how i see it. majority of all the cars ive owned i always worked the suspension first. except my first car, i did the power mods first and the car had power but the suspension could not take the added mods so it did not handle quite well. but i worked the suspension pretty good and its ok. there is room for improvement but it in the process. but work it according to your budget. if you can afford the suspension first thats what id recommend. but its entirely up to you. just a suggestion. good luck with the modding

I would do the exhaust as the last modification unless the sound it important for you. like everyone on the boards will tell you the exhaust will not do much as far as power gains. the stock exhaust flows pretty well.

Im not to sure as far as the TL-P though can someone chime in on that one!! LOL i know the TYpe S exhaust they say doesnt do much. for me i have the apexi WSII catback. i love the sound but it was my last mod i did. There was some top end gain that i felt but not much. it was awsome though. i love the sound.

Cat back is the complete piping from the cat converter to the mufflers. so bascially it a full exhaust (B-Pipe and for the TL 2 Silencers (Mufflers). The Axel Back is just the 2 silencers (Mufflers) that bolt up to the stock B-Pipe. Comptech makes the Axel backs or you can custom your own by going to a muffler shop. Apexi, Tanabe, Comptech, Neuspeed, and i believe Fujitsubo makes the Full catbacks that bolt up with no modification.

500 can get you quite a bit. just do a search on the forums and hit up the black market to do more research as far as what makes the most gains (Header and Crank Pully) and what makes the least. But $500 smackers can get you quite a bit of mods if you search and have some luck!!

Suspension first, then go do your intake. Headers is a maybe(depending on you) then exhaust and then minor mods such as hid/fog light bulbs, interior bulbs etc....

I did the suspension first. Then wheels, intake, and finally the crank pulley. I'm done

The suspension for me anyway, sounds like it is going to be the most expensive mod. Either you buy coilovers or you buy springs and shocks. Either way it will probably be around 400 buckaroos. I started with a new intake, and now have a cat-back exhaust. I only started that way because of money. If I had more I probably would have started with suspension and wheels. Good luck.

headers, then CAI, the crank pulley, then thermoblok spacer's, then exhaust, then suspension mods(sways, shocks/stuts, springs, etc.)

If you go from stock springs to aftermarket with a drop like that your stock shock will wear out a lot quicker. That is why most people on here when they get a drop do both at the same time.

DROP IT! Droping it looks bad ass even with stock wheels and your handling will also improve lots.

I dont know if this would work on our tl's but it did on both of my integra's, I put coil overs on them and kept the stock struts on but took off the hard foam thats on the strut and took off most of the rubber washers on the top of the struts and this allowed the stock strut to travel up and down a lot more preventing it from bottoming out, and believe it or not but my integra's were lowered about 3" and they rode almost as smooth as stock and never bottoming out.

the bump stops are tehre for a reason, and with out them you will ruin the shocks faster if you repeatedly bottom teh shock out (which you are doing with the bump stop removed) also that much lowering on stock shocks they will wear out much faster

you dont have to, but the stock strut/shock will wear out a lot faster. Also, since the stock strut it being over compressed at all times, the ride quality will be worse than if you bought struts designed to be that low.

Its better to get struts and springs together, that way it looks the best, rides and handles the best, and lasts a long long time.
