What % tint should i go with

I have black interior and i feel as though 20% may be to dark but 35% might be too light and a waste of many...any suggestions?

20% would be nice. I find that it doesn't actually look that dark, which may save you the tickets. 35% is just too light.

Haha thanks. Can't do tint on the windshield here in MO either

Driving at night isn't nearly as bad as you might think. It helps GREATLY during the day with glare and sunlight tho. Now that I have had 2 cars with tinted windshields, I will never go back. I squint like crazy when I drive something without it lol.

i say 20% on the sides and 35% on the back...that way when cops are behind you they can see the shadows of everyone in the car and will b less inclined to pull u over...

I'd go with what L's TL said or 35% all around. You need to remember that Rhode Island's tint laws suck. Basicly u can't have any tint on any window. RI law is 70% tint or more is legal, so basicly nothing. I'd personally stick with 35% all around (which is what i have with a black on black car), especially if u have to get a state inspection anytime soon. Most place will not pass you for state inspection with tinted windows. You either have to get lucky or find a place and hope "greasing the palm" works.

damn i want that 15%
friend of mine had 35% all around and cops wasted him 3x before he had time to remove it. so lame cause so many ricers in the area, so cops are just generally biased and hating, so they will screw anyone out of anything remotely aftermarket

I would go with 30% if you feel that 35% will be too light and 20% is gonna be too dark. Then if you want to do the windshield, you could throw 35% on the windshield and your good to go.

reason i say go with 35% is cause your in RI. I have yet to have issues with cops and my tinted windows. I have even been pulled over for speeding at night by a state cop and he didn't do anything about my tinted windows. Only way out of a ticket for tinted windows is to remove it too.

Thanks man, really its not bad at all. I'm used to it, my last car was the same way. Its a lil more difficult at night if its POURING, but other than that no problem at all. I think it looks a lot more "uniform" and equal when everything is done.

And to all those whining about "what about the cops??" C'mon, seriously. I have had 4 tint tickets in MO, but never once have I even considered changing it. To get a $75 fine here and there to have my windows the way I want them is worth it to me...compared to a speeding ticket (which most of us risk every day) these fines are nothing! And its non-moving!!

every state is different on what they do with tints. RI is not a ticket you can just pay and move on. You must fix it. aka a fix-it ticket. So unless u want to remove your tint and pay the ticket every time u get pulled over for it and then pay to re-tint your windows, go for the darker stuff.

I've got 25% on the back and rear doors and 35% on the front doors. This is legal tint in Georgia. The difference between front and rear doors is mildly noticeable and I'd probably go with 25% all the way around next time. My wife's bmw is 35% all the way around. You can ssee clearly in the windows but it stays cool.

Both cars look absolutely beautiful when all shined up and I'd feel comfortable driving anywhere with this tint.

Night visibility is good. I have darker tint (15% i think) on a Volkswagen and its very hard to see at night. I don't like that at all.

Pics look like other 35%...

You must have good luck then. I had my car reg in RI & I was coming up from Bk one day and a RI State Trooper pulled me over because he said he saw my windows were tinted. He gave me a fix-it- ticket, he said the front cannot be tinted, but the rear is fine......Ri sucks!!!

Don't know if this is still worthwhile in this thread, but this is my car with 18% tint, which I think is too light:

^^^ AAHHH! They tinted around your third brake light! Sry, I can't stand that. So much cleaner if they take it out to do the whole window.
