underdrive pullies bad for car?
I see alot of people on here that have them, and get pretty good gains from them. I was talking about them with a shop about getting some installed, and they warned me to stay away from them because they can cause terrible damage to a engine.
What are the chances of this? Still worth getting?

if you buy cheap knock-off brands, there is a possibility they are not perfectly ballanced, and they could, in time, cause detrimantal damage to your engine..
If you get UR Pulleys, you should be fine... many many members have got them and none have yet to announce any problems. Mind you I've yet to hear any problems caused with other pulleys, but it would be safe to spend the extra money and get the more expensive pulleys, the UnorthadoxRacing Pulleys.

the worry about them causing damage comes from people who have replaced them on cars that had harmonic dampers on the crank. Honda doesnt use them. if its a food brand like UR there isnt any thing to worry about as far as them causing damage on a honda engine

A poorly balanced pulley can damage crankshaft bearings over time. But, given how well Megan makes headers, I am sure their pulleys are just fine.

but like fstty said, some engines have harmonic balancers. Looking at my stock pulley which got replaced by a UR_c.p, you can tell there's nothing to it, no springs or anything...+ there's a huge difference in the weight AND diameter = here's where the gains come from.
