turbo

This may be a stupid question but I was wondering if you could put the rdx turbo in the 2nd gen tl? I know the rdx is a K-engine but maybe with some modifications? I dont know a whole lot about turbos. Would it at least fit an rsx or tsx bc they have the K engine?

theoretically speaking it can be done. anything with honda's or acura can be interchanged if you think it cant theres someone out there that has done it or is attempting it... the new thing i saw i liked is that you can put k20's into the older model accords which i think is pretty boss but also very unaffordable

the turbo on the RDX is really small. i don't think it would be worth all the time/fabrication/money.

if your asking if with some minor modifications could you get it to work, NO. A turbo isnt something like a Intake that just bolts on. Also it would be really small for the J32 unless you decided to use 2 of them. A better turbo is the Holset from the dodge ram.

I'm in no rush. I'm a poor graduate student, but Uncle Sam really helps pay the bills.

But that wouldnt be a direct bolt on though, correct? I was just wondering it seems like a cool project.

Neither would the rdx turbo. Nor would it be a "some modification" project.

Honestly, I'd imagine it'd be like installing any other turbo, get your manifold, your intercooler, wastegate, blow off valve and all associated plumbing. That's the beauty of turbo is that you can mix and match your parts and whatnot.

the K23 from the RDX IS NOT A DIRECT DROP AND PLAY MOTOR.
you will need custom mounts.

additionally, the K23 has a different tranny that mounts up to it.
its an AWD tranny.
the 2nd gen TL is a fwd vehicle.
you will spend copious amounts of money to do this motor swap

I think he was just talking about using the turbo from a Rdx not swapping the whole motor

It was just a thought. My favorite noise is to here a turbo, never heard one come from a 2nd gen. Thought that would be bad! Gimme a couple years and I'll do it.

There are a few that have put turbos on. Like i said earlier its not just a change this bracket here bend a pipe there. It will ALL be a complete custom setup. DO a search, you will see.

Anyone know how close the turbo kit is for the Accord J30A1? I would imagine the setup would be really similar to a 2G TL.
