Burning Brakes
My TLS is great on the highway. i drove back and forth from VT to NJ to go boarding every weekend for 6 months and never got less then 375 but consistently 400 and a couple of 420s. thats not bad considering the hill climbing in vt and the weather.
good luck with your swap. contact member j83. he has a shop in fort lee and he has done swaps before. he did it on his own tl.

Oh man, it drives AWSOME!! it feels soo much more powerful, and the car revs insane lol. It redlines somewhere around 7100 i am told, but i havent felt a limiter, some say max hp is around 7500. The thing i love the most is that even at like 60 mph in 6th just feathering the throttle gives u acceleration. This is definently worth it. Plus Jay did such a good job with making everything look just like it belongs there. If anyone is in the area and wants anything done to their car, wiring, swap, anything if u go on 46 east in NJ towards the GWB you will see his shop, if anyone wants directions from me just send me a message.

Congrats. Any more information you can provide is appreciated by those of us with this swap in mind! Places to find parts, and maybe even more price breakdowns. I know Kris gave us lots of info, but more info never hurt anyone.

Wow, I would consider driving up there from SC if my tranny actually dies... (/me runs and knocks on a lot of wood). I would LOVE a six speed manual in this car.
What are the drawbacks to those of you that have done this (if any) ? What's the part # or from what car is that tranny? (i understand there's a lot more to just getting the tranny after reading what's his name's swap thread)

Wow, I would really love to convert my auto to 6 Speed stick too with my car.
The engine is rock solid, I've only ever used mobil 1 synthetic since I got it, so it'll last forever.
I was thinking to trade in my car when it reaches 100,000 miles, and that is approaching real fast.
Please let us know how much is the total cost and how much labor cost

I took at the list of parts needed if you wanted to swap from auto to manual and have a TL-S already. Around 2g's for parts, without the tranny or ecu and installation. So i'm guessing it'll be from 4 to 5g's installed. Reach deep into your pockets guys! Would love for the 6 spd... but that's too damaging.

Hey guys i forgot about this link lol, with school and stuff and trying to part out the automatic parts on the black market. Ok for all of you people that want to know the price for parts... it was around 5k. The labor was separate. I believe i posted a parts list somewhere, and you will see how many things that you have to buy. It is an impressive list, basically i have a CL-s now lol, or at least my car thinks so. But i did keep my engine, just changed about everything else. If anyone has more questions i will be keeping an eye on this now. Ohh and my car IS dropped.. cant tell lol H&R sports. I just need an exhaust.... apexi wsII preferably, but cant find one for a good price anymore.
