Teach me

Firstly, thank you all for being so helpful. This forum is so informative and holds many friendly people. I have a question that i cannot figure out and would like someone to inform me. Why does the type s model TL have more horse power when the non type s trim has the same litre engines, uses the same kind of gas ? I just don't understand.

different camshafts. different cam timing, different throttle body, different ECU mapping
The engines only look the same on the outside

their are a couple threads on the differences between the tl-s and the tl-p.
name a few,
bigger tb, bigger intake piping, bigger camshaft lobes, diff ecu programing, higher compression, a bit bigger exhaust pipes, and im not sure about the intake manifold (might be diff?)
