I was wondering if its a good idea to spend the extra money on a AEM V2 air intake or should i buy a cheaper knock off brand? I would rather go with the real thing but i need your advice guys and girls!! Let me know what you think!

 

Buy the V2. It is incredible. If you're not going to buy the V2 stick with Ingen AEM or Comptech. No use in wasting money on a knock off. Plus if something goes wrong with the bigger brands, they are more willing to help out and stand behind their product.

 

with cheaper, sound is lost, u get probably an annoying sound compared to a sweet one, and i bet for performance u lose a few hp, i heard the v2 sounds better than the older aem models......i had the older aem cai, sound sweet, so i couldnt imagine how the v2 sounds

 

Would headers, make the car sound good too?

 

The sound wont change much with headers, maybe a deeper tone, but you really won't hear a change. If sound is what you are looking for get an exhaust and intake.

 

If you haven’t already purchased your intake, I will strongly back the V2! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME SOUND!!!! I have had it on my 99tl for about 5-6 months... sadly i cant take it with me to my 02 tls. Hope injen or aem cai can come close to the sound.
