Which route did you go with your TL?
i got my tl with 142K auto transmission
but its really smooth and its my daily. i figured if the transmission fails like almost every others i have seen on the fourm... then shieet the acura website says take it to them for the tranmission inspection? would to fix it if it is a recall but imma have to pay something im sure. at that point i would probably want to swap it to a 6 speed. but im still payin on the car so its like damn.

if you were in warranty limits and trans failed, you have to take it to them for diagnosis and repair.
out of coverage= why would you go to them? thats only for people in warranty!
Standard diagnostic fee: 100-150 dollars--just to diagnose,, not even fix!
(if found to be warranty you dont pay for diagnostic)
`uhhh your trans is dead- wanna give me 5 grand!!!`
does your car have the `recall installed` trans external oil jet kit?
thats your only chance at an acura freebie now- it that wasnt done,,
and the specific heat damage is found = free trans
If not damaged, they install the oil jet kit

before i bought the car i did research on it and did see that there is alot of stories about transmission inssues. so i went to acura and enter the vin number and saw that it was fixed and then they showed a page where if anything goes bad with tranny blah blah blah... so i was like ok it should be cool if its been repaired.
also how would you kno if the transmission is still under warrenty if its been replaced? how do you find out that info.. i do kno that the car was bought in ftworth acura dealer cause it still has a dealership name badge. i dont know if was replaced or repaired. my co-worker bought his tl when new and told me he had his transmission replaced for free four years ago.
fixed lol
that means it did get the recall installed- external oil jet kit- you can see that on top of the trans where normal filler hole is
look for blue painted bolt heads on trans for acura replaced unit
and kit or no external kit tells when it was replaced
when they did the recall - a boroscope camera was used to look for specific heat damage- if none, they said its `ok`- install recall jet kit and send it down the road!!
If damage found they replaced the trans then as warranty
if part of the `covered vins` (not same as recall vins)
the current limit on warranty is 7 years+9 months from date car sold new
or 109kmiles- (whichever first)
there are certain vins get 114.5 miles and a rumor says now 120 but no official word I know of
Acura 800 382 2238x5 can tell you cars date first sold/end of trans warranty date
so ~fixed~ in acuras wording means recall completed- has nothing to do with the real failure problem of worn clutches
