Reverse HID's

Ok Ive seem this done before and thought it was pretty cool. Well I had an extra set of 9006 hid's at my house so I ended up putting htem in as my revese lights. This hid kit I had is a plug and play so they came with extensions so I cut the one end off the extension and cut the buld part off my factory reverse light and butt connected them together. I checked the drivers side after I did it and it came on then I did the pass side and they both came on but then shut off. It blew a fuse so I replaced it cause I did this while the car was off and after I replaced the fuse I checked them again with the car running and they were ok but then shifted into park and then back to park and it blew. My baddy said prob cause the fuse was too small(7.5) so I upped it to a 10. I havent blown a fuse yet but sometime only on side goes on and them sometimes they both go on. Does anyone know what this could be? Do I need a relay or something?

The side that doesnt always come on probably needs a resistor

x2 for pics.
I wanted to do this as well, however after thinking it over with Sutton, another member on here we came to a certain issue....HIDs have to warm up to get to full temp and color, and using them for reverse lights would lead to pre-mature wear on the bulbs and probably the ballasts as-well.
As for your issue, I'd say add a resistor as well.

As far as the 3g's go, Bzyrice has done hid reverse and tailgater lights.
