Question about CT AT cooler

I just found comptech's automatic transmission cooler.. Im still on my first tran with 147,000 miles. I know this is a good thing to have with superchargers an stuff but do you think it would be worth it to have on my tran to prolong its life? I have no FI mods...

I bought a B&M transmission cooler for my auto.

I know others have done it without FI mods.

I thought the same as you but from all the research I have done...

Wouldn't be any dramatic difference...but will keep your transmission at a cooler running temperature.

That's worth it in my opinion...if you lived in a warmer climate this would work more to your favor.

They are cheap...I say go for it.

And we don't have a stock trans cooler.

If you are hoping that it will save the tans from failure you need to search. This has been discussed before and it wont help any thing.

I was looking into getting a B@M tranny cooler also (half price of comptech) but everyone said it would not really make a difference. I remember reading somewhere that the trannies DID NOT have a built in cooler, It was somone who took apart there tranny to make it stronger. Otheres also said that there tranny cooler gets real hot so if it gets really hot imagine how hot the tranny gets without the cooler?
Anymore input would be cool, maybee from someone that knows about our Sh()tty trannies, I would install it if it would help out the tranny!
If it will not make a difference why waste time and money!

Search it. I have rebuilt the trans my self. I had 4 failures with one on. AGAIN fluid/fluid temp IS NOT the problem. Fluid getting to the parts is. A cooler isnt going to help it get to where it needs to go. Now is it going to hurt to have one. NO. Is it going to save your trans NO.

Heavy duty tranny oil coolers are for vehicles doing towing jobs. As been said many times, it will NOT prevent the 2G trannies from crapping out.

Its not going to do any thing other than keep the trans fluid temp lower. No. If there were it would be the single biggest thing talked about
