I have a 2002 Type-S with the Comptech Icebox and the replacement K&N filter element. I'm thinking about purchasing a crank pulley, but i'm slightly unsure on what i should buy. The brand i'm leaning towards right now is AEM. I'm also unsure if i should just purchase a new crank pulley or buy a new pulley for my alternator and such.

1. What brand should I get?
2. Should i just get the crank or more?
3. Does anyone have the crank pulley and notice a hp or tq difference while driving?

 

Check the group buy section. Get the UR pulley. You can get just the crank (which is actually the part which creates all the hp), or the whole set (which is more for looks). I think pretty much the pulley is 7-10 whp from what i've read? Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

 

The hp gains are in the crank pulley alone. The AEM pulleys are only for show. The Unorthodox Racing crank pulley is usually good for about 8-10 hp due to the lighter weight and slighty underdriving of the accessories.

Get the UR pulleys! If you have extra money and for look, then get the whole set. If you just want power gain, get the crank only.
You will feel the gain while driving with the rpm shoot up much faster thus you will hit vtec faster also.

 

ur crank pulley is a great mod, provides faster rpm ascension and more torque down low. it is a great mod and would bet it's a good 10HP mod. it sure was a butt dyno difference maker for me.

 

Dont get AEM Pulleys. Thats a waste as far as im concerned. Get the Unorthodox Racing Ultra S Crank Pulley. I've already done a full write up on this part including all the info on it, prices, install prices, goods, bads, effects, what u need for it, gains the whole 9 yards. I also did a second write up under the first one which you'll see if you scroll down the thread just a little. The second part of the write up i did is after i had the pulley installed.
