new K&N filter and spark plugs
new K&N filter and spark plugs
finally got my paycheck so i went out and got a K&N filter and the NGK Iridium ix spark plugs. I havent put the plugs in yet but i did put in the filter since it was easiest and less time consuming. I am also going to seafoam and then change the oil. should i do it in that order?
as for performance with the filter...I actually did notice better throttle response. It wasn't as hesitant (guessing that be the best word) and sounded pretty nice.

remove the intake resonator box to take advantage of the K&Ns abilty to flow air to the engine when it wants it (vtec) see diy section
run 1 can seafoam in 8 gallons gas--a line below half on the guage
clean the TB air plate inside tb- remove air tube from filter box to TB and look inside- carb cleaner is fine for spray and wipe up mess, do both sides and edges
optional- add seafoam thru master vac port or spray its aerosol version `Deep Creep` thru the vac port or thru the air plate to quick clean the internal engine parts instantly.
The gas method gets everything the vac port does AND other places the vac port cant, the injectors and rails, lines etc but it takes longer, a tank or 2
for oil method: add just under half can of seafoam to oil and drive 30 + minutes-freeway speed preferred to make heat in the engine
Use vtec a few times to get cleaner spread everywhere
Drain oil while warm and change filter
change plugs a day or 2 after vac port method, or change them now and do gas tank method only-
it wont hurt new plugs at all if you do them first, only an issue on 100kmile plugs and not replacing them

haha alright
i'll be sure to clean the TB and do the vac port
i took out the intake res a while ago and decided to see how the engine sounds tonight....sounds pretty sick.
i have a feeling i'll be having some fun once i return some of that lost power

thats what one of my friends just told me as well. so i believe i will do that, thanks man.
depending on if i can get a new laptop for christmas i think my next project will be either some cheap rims for the winter or to get the headers for performance.
