Need new bigger trips, and straight pipe

Ello, well I wanted to get bigger tips as my stock ones kind of look crumy and are burnt a little.

I also wanted to remove the exhaust resonator or mid muffler, whatever you call it and put on a straight pipe.

My 2 questions are, what kind of tips should I get and where should I buy them, also what kind of straight up, size wise and any specific brand? I wanted to get ATLP, but I won't have enough money in time, so I have to do this for now.

All help is appreciated!

Search 3A Racing tips.

I think people have ran 3.25, 3.5 and even 3.75 inch tips.

Thanks man, I took a look at them on eBay pretty good looking.

Anything you can recommend me for the putting a straight pipe?

Like I have seen them at Autozone but I don't think they are any good quality, or does it not matter?

just go to a muffler shop and tell them to remove the the resonators... or get a P2R test pipe and get a better sound and more power..

Oh really, this is news to me lmfao. So removing the resonator and replacing it with nothing will give a better sound? Or should both be done?

i wouldn't do it.

tiny pee shooter TL-P pipes are lame.. i did this and my car sounded like a 99 civic with 1.5" straight piping all the way.. PEEEEEWEEEEWEPWPEPEEWPEEPEPWEPEP

TL-S has bigger inter diameter in their stock piping compared to the TL-P so you'll get a different sound from what Rajca is telling you. unless raj did that to both his TL-P and -S.....

if i were you... either ATLP if you got the loot.. since its the only on that you will see performance gains on...

if money is a little on the tighter side.. id go with the Apexi WSII... sounds beautiful as well.. IMO

just get 2.5" piping to a very nice and smooth Y spit to 2.25" and make sure they're mandrel bend piping.

as to mufflers, anything that has a straight through design with some sound deadening in the inside so it isn't ear busting loud.

when it comes to exhaust you know what you are talkin about but if someone can not afford ATLP exhaust what would you recommend doing?

CAI -> Mid Muffler Removed -> New Catback?

I also like the g35 sound and curious how to achieve that?

Wow that's the mid muffler? So I must of been looking at the resonator, thinking it was the mid muffler. Where can I learn to everything I need to know about 2001 Acura TL-P without making new threads or comments, I feel so useless.

I removed my mid muffler about a year ago, and do admit it sounds nice. very nice humble deep sound, plus doesn't get annoying in the car. and will pass smog. But i am in the same boat with the rest of the people who dnt got the loot to drop on exhaust. My problem is the cat. it needs to be replaced so i decided that ill replace it and put strait 2.5" pipe to a Y split 2.25"/ but dnt know what kind of muffler or tip to get. ill be honest im not trying to spend too much money. the cheaper the better.so do i need a muffler to have tips or wht? and will it pass smog? so cat. back straight pipe is the idea.

See it depends then cuz on my 02 TL-S I removed the mid muffler and it sounded very very close to a g35... I wanted it a lil louded so I removed the "apple juice can" lookin resonator and that made it really ugly and raspy... So I put in a magnaflow glasspack muffler in place of the resonator and it sounded like pure sex....

Rockstar- I remember seenin the thread about your car makin no sound after the mod, n I always thought that was weird cuz mine did deepin the tone, and so did rajca's I remember from the chi town meet...

Iono its a mystery lol maybe its just the TL-s that experiences the tone change....

^nope I did it, removed both and it sounded deeper, sounds the same with my type s engine too

I guess its a mystery we'll never solve I always say its hit or miss, I believe the type s ppl usually get the rasp though

i think that do to the pipes being smaller, smaller inlets and outlets on the mufflers, smaller valve diameters on the tl-p, makes the mod worthless for the tl-p owners
