My Review of Excelerate mounts

Just installed my mounts, first off i wanna say I'm going to be very honest in this review because there are advantages and disadvantages. Lets start with the good, the transaction was AMAZING in every way... i literally contacted Joshua (owner of excelerate) and i sent my payment and 2 days later the mounts were at my doorstep, probably the best and easiest transaction I've ever had. Now for the installation... my mechanic told me he had to do a bit of grinding on one of the mounts to make it fit he said it was a bit of a headache but in total it took him about 2 hours which isn't bad. Soon as i got my car back and turned it on i noticed the vibrations, now the vibration is definitely strong to the point that my steering wheel even shakes. The car feels like it has racing camshafts which isn't exactly pleasant for a mid-size luxury car... i can't even imagine how much vibration there would be with the 75A inserts (i ordered the 62A). I like the way the car drives now because there is absolutely no wheel hop and the car feels very tight including the suspension, the engine also doesnt move at all but now my car feels like its an old car and my wife hates the feeling. All in all its still better than having broken mounts and at least i know my XLR8 mounts will last extremely long. I don't regret my purchase at all but just wanted to make things clear because i know theres a lot of you guys with busted mounts and you probably don't even know it.

Thanks for the review !
Guess it's hard to please everyone, especially the dear wifey......who is used to the softer feel.
But, they will loosen up over time and will last forever giving a tight ride !!!

got strong as hell beck/arnley front, rear & sides with vacuum line & they feel very very sexy. i do not see them wearing out anytime soon. don't see that i won't get at least 4 yrs out of them & will probably sell my car in 2-3. minimal if any vibration at idle. got all 3 for under 200 & these are a huge step up from the ebay cheap set. have ingalls damper at tightest setting too.

My Poly-filled mount is still rocking Strong.. Cost me 10 bucks 3 mounts..

Don't have pics of F/R Engine mounts but you get the idea.. Zero Wheel Hop but still as Soft like Stock.

^^^ Yeah, poly filled mounts will get ya by. Were those the originals ?
No more vac-assist, but what the hey....at $10 bucks for a tube of silicon window weld, yeah baby......
why not give it a shot ?

But ya gotta be willing to do the grunge time pulling the mounts off to fill them, and at that point ....... sometimes installing "new" mounts makes sense to some who don't want to take the chance or risk of doing the job over again. My 2 cents !!!

Well its not like black magic...
I have done it to 2 different cars since my TL and they are all Happy Customers! The most important part of poly filling is let them rest a day (24h) because internally it takes a good while to dry and if you install it in less than 5 hours the mount will collapse (Been there, done that)...

Those poly mounts look good thats a great deal I'm just not really a hands on person and i heard good reviews about the XLR8 mounts so i decided to give them a try. The most important thing to me was to get the job done once and never have to do it again for as long as i own the car which will probably be the next 2-3 years. With the way i drive my car i think id wreck a set of OEM mounts in no time. Anybody else who has any questions about these mounts before purchasing I'm all ears.

The mounts will soften up in about a year or so and vibrations will lessen.

Its only been a month and I've noticed a slight break in already so I'm looking forward to that.

^ That would be even cleaner.. Never did that with mine because the hassle to remove the vac lines and I suppose my Poly filled experiment mounts would die eventually, They keep surprising me every day.

Note to self*: Do that in the future!

Thanks for the feedback. And the bushings do break in over time so the vibration will subside a bit. Also make sure to torque the center bolt to 35-40 ft lbs of torque to help reduce vibration.

UPDATE : a little over a month now with the mounts and i feel much less vibration than i did when they were first installed, even with the A/C on now it is somewhat close to stock feeling when it comes to vibration which makes me very happy. This has to be one of the best purchases I've made for my car.

Mine improved as well, but with a/c is still a nice seat massage lol.
I have a rattle coming from under the car with ac on, do you? Something is vibrating now, need.to find it.
I agree though, this is an excellent mod that makes driving it like a whole new car

Nope i don't have any rattling at all just normal vibration. What i do have is a sound when i first take off and hit the gas i guess the torque causes it because once the car is rolling i don't hear the torque sound anymore if that makes any sense. Its kind of like a grinding sound at take off but theres nothing grinding, it also made this sound with the stock mounts but it was less noticeable. This sound is also something that is fading along with the vibration though

Hmm I think it's my exhaust, not sure though. Ya I have a sound similar to yours as well, I didn't have it noticeable before the mounts though. Now I also have a clunk in the steering wheel when returning to center now too. I have too much to track down.

I do kinda like a little vibration, makes the car feel more muscle-y like my chevelle lol. Girlfriend isn't ecstatic about it but doesn't really mind it too much.

The car feels much more solid, can definitely tell more power to the ground without the hop, feels solid over speed bumps, and acceleration out of corners is so much smoother

Same her man i can definitely feel better acceleration i just wish our cars had a better tranny because thats the only thing i hate on my car. Mind you my trans was rebuilt earlier this year so its basically brand new even the fluid is still fresh but the characteristics of the trans just suck, it has a horrible kick when its cold and theres nothing wrong with it. BTW put your car on a lift and check your suspension the clunk might just be an axle or tie rod ends and while you're down there I'm sure you'll be able to find that rattle you speak of.

Just remember that you'll never ever have to do the job of replacing the mounts again. That alone is good enough for me.

I couldn't imagine using a 62a mount on these cars. I have Hasport 62a on my turbo civic swap and I love them. But the vibration is nothing that belongs on a luxury car. Everything rattles! I will be sticking with stock mounts
